Anyone get called for Jury Duty....
While prego?? I am 7 months now and I have to start calling in Friday night. I figured if my # comes up, just go and once they see me, they might let me get out of it.
I heard calling and telling them does nothing.
It's for Suffolk County out in Riverhead, so I can't see them even thinking about putting me on a trial.

I had jury duty at 20 weeks pregnant with #1. And I was picked for a weeklong jury!

I had been called (on the last possible day of course) but I was only about 3 months along. You have to show your face for it to count but I think if you make it into the courtroom, you could probably use the excuse that you cant sit for long periods of time or you have to use the bathroom every 2 hours. I think that may work. Good luck! Hope ur number doesn't even get called!

i was picked at 12 weeks for a week long jury i loved it got to sleep till 830

I defiantly plan on showing up if my # gets called, but hopefully I will only be there for the day. I will make it a point to use the prego card if need be

I got PICKED and SERVED on a jury when I was 35 weeks pregnant with my DD. I couldn't believe I got picked... so obviously in my case, being pregnant isn't always a ticket out.

Back when I used to pick juries, I remember some judges were not very willing to let women off just because they were far along in their pregnancies, but other judges would kindly ask if you would be able to concentrate on anything other than you soon-to-be-born child and then let you go right away.
I'm sure even if you're impaneled, explaining how preggo brain means not being able to concentrate well or keep things in your head would let you get off even if the bathroom thing wouldn't.
We did have women on our panel who were pregnant who actually really wanted to be there though sometimes.
