Personally, I don't want to get either. I will personally reject the swine flu vaccine, because as far as I am concerned, it is too new and I don't want to be a guinea pig just to find out that it has some side effect that could harm my baby or myself. JMO, of course.

Not sure if I'm going to get it. DH is worried that it's a new vaccine and what the possible side effects might be? He's worried it will hurt the baby.

Thats not true. At least not for ALL healthcare facilities. I work in a Nursing Home and would have heard about this in my position. You have a choice - you just have to sign a waiver saying it was offered and you declined.
I'm definitely getting the regular flu shot - not sure yet about the swine flu.
i actually just got a notice that is from work but includes the new ordinance from the department of health that as of sept 1 all individuals who work in health care facilities must have the shot unless there is a risk to their own health... it literally came in the mail yesterday and nursing homes are included

i think it depends on if it is also a rehad facility.... i just know that the three places i am employed at all are requiring it... never thought i would get a hard time by stating that my job requires it....

Not giving you a hard time! I got nervous when you posted that all healthcare facilities were mandating it. I'm probably going to get the flu shot anyway but I hate when I dont have a choice about what goes into my own body.
I appreciate you posting the information and I'm sure others have found it helpful, especially those that might not have known about it!

My OB is hell bent on me getting it. I have been sick for 8 days now with what was suspected as possible swine flu and now they've ruled it out as some other random virus. It's been HIDEOUS. She said some major OB organization I can't remember what its called, just released a statement strongly saying all pg women SHOULD get the vax. I don't know what to do!!!
