Anyone give the H1N1 shot to child under 2?
I *think* I will be doing it tomorrow. Anyone else do it? DS is 19 months.

they are recommending it for any child over 6 months. i will be getting it for DD when she turns 6 months.

DS just got it today & he's 7 months. I was back & forth constantly about it. We were at the ped today for a check up & he offered it so I figured I'd just jump in & do it. He has been fine all day.

After a ton of back and forth, I called today and made the appt.

Ds got it about a month ago at his ped. He was about 21 months I think. He will get the second dose next week if they have it in. I was on the fence but realized I needed to do it. I get him the seasonal so it was silly for me not to get the h1n1 since it is basically the same shot.

DD got it two weeks ago. She is 17 months. She was really cranky for a week afterwards, but Im glad I did it.

I was back and forth with it too... I actually went in for her 9 month appt thinking I was going to say no. My ped didn't pressure me at all, but after talking to me about it and all of my neurotic questions, I decided to give it to her.
In hindsight I am really happy that we gave it to her.
She had no reactions whatsoever.

My DS had his last night! So far so good! He's been great!
He's only going to need one dose though since I had the swine flu already.
ETA- He had the preservative free H1N1 vaccine

Yup ds had it last week and he's 16+ months old.
I went back and forth about it, but he's had too many respiratory problems to not get it.

DS will be getting it on the 24th (he's 21 mos). He'd be getting at as long as he's over 6 mos though.

And my daughter only got the first dose bc my pedi is not giving 2nd doses until everyone who wants the vaccine gets it. my pedi said first dose is 80%effective.

Where are you all getting it?
My ped just got 50 doses this week for babies. Unfortunately they do not yet have the dosage for my 5 year old.

Where were you able to get teh preservative free H1N1? Are you in NY? I was told it's coming but the shot I will give DS tomorrow is not the preservative free one. I wish I could give him that one.

My dd did not get the preservative free one. My pedi not sure if he was gonna get it. He gave his 8 month old it so i followed his lead and did the same for my dd.

I am doing it... my office recommends it, as well as DH's aunt who is a pediatric neurologist. The risk of the virus is too great to not get it...
My office just got their shipment, so I am waiting to hear back on the appt.
