anyone have a child over 2 with acid reflux..

Im in shock here..DD was diagnosed with it very early age... we took her off zantac at 2 yrs old... her naps did get shorter and it was taking her a long time to fall asleep at night (about an hr) no matter what time we put her down... this past month was a nightmare for naps..i could tell she was off.. she wouldnt sleep and kept having bad gas and crunching her legs in to chest, crying ..it was a mess.. i finally took her back to gastrointologist yesterday he told me to give her mylanta 2x a day before lunch and dinner.. and what a difference.. last night she feel asleep in 15 minutes and today for nap it was right away .. i just cant believe she still has issues :( AND i dont give her junk or anything that has citric acid in it... so frustrating bc i jsut wish she didnt have this...

yup i'm afraid this is going to be Jacen. He's 1 years old and still has reflux and is still on zantac.

Yes, DS has this in addition to other Gastro issues. He's still on Prevacid once a day in the morning. As long as we are careful with what we give him (like no citrus, etc) and he sits for a bit after, he's usually fine. It's a pain to deal with, but we've found ways to manage it.
