Anyone putting a stork on their lawn?

Or some sort of baby announcement? I've been thinking about this and wonder if anyone has recommendations.

Also, when do you order it, and what the cost is?

TIA!

Not to start a scare, but I heard not to because then people know you have a newborn and know you are vulnerable or can steal the baby. I know that is a bit extreme, but we decided not to.

Re: Anyone putting a stork on their lawn?

nah, I don't think it is for us...we'll probably have some balloons out in the front and some bows in pink or blue tied to the fence when we get home.

Suzy - I think BBB rents then. There is a big one in the Huntington Store by the door with a sign on it saying something about rental. HTH

Trying is right, its sweet but for us its like advertising we have a newborn, and we are Zombies and have baby brain from sleep deprivation.

Re: Anyone putting a stork on their lawn?

I am sure my parents or in-laws will do some sort of decorations for the front of the house. We live in a small community of houses which are on a cul-de-sac.

I felt the same way when I was pregnant about it being an advertisement, but then I thought, when was the last time you heard a newborn was kidnapped from their house because their was a stork on the lawn? We got one and it was nice because some of my neighbors (believe it or not) didn't realize I was pregnant or they did and this was a nice way for them to find out I had the baby.

That's a pretty good point - I never thought about it. I wouldnt do it on a busy street.

With DS my hubby hung the balloons on the mailbox.

ITA also! I had one for Julia, and will for this baby, If you think about it I guess it would be easy for kidnappers to get kids with swiingsets in the backyard too--lol
