Anyone taking the next c-section class at Good Sam next week?
I thought I wrote it down, but apparently not. I'm 99% sure it's May 10th -- but of course I can't freaking remember! Don't want to have to try and hunt down the number so I thought I'd see if anyone is going and they can confirm it.

What is the class for? Who should go? I will be delivering at Good Sam, but I'm not planning on a c-section. I'm 25 weeks... is it for people who are farther along?

Good Sam requires that all who deliver there attend a mandatory c-section class in case you need one. It's to ensure that your DH will be allowed in the room if you need one.
I've heard that some say if you don't take it -- it's not a big deal, and others say that it's a big deal if you don't.
They do them about 2x a month or so.

How did you guys find out about this? My OB has not said anything to me about it and when I received the info packet from GSH it didn't say anything there either. What the he ll? Like I don't have enough to do before this kid gets here. Not to mention I have my personal policy of no classes or any type of education. My birth plan is ignorance is bliss.

I've known friends who delivered there and I got a pamphlet from GS that told me of all the classes they have there. The c-section class was on there and shown as mandatory and you had to send in an envelope from the pamphlet to select which classes you wanted.
Within about 2 days someone called me from Good Sam and set it up.
I know what you mean about not having enough to do already. I have no choice but to go on the 10th and will have to leave class early that night to get there!

I actually didn't get a packet from Good Sam -- I got the pamphlet from my OB directly.

They actually gave it to me about 2 or 3 wks ago, but I think they were supposed to give to me a long time ago. It was with a sort of "welcome to pregnancy" bag they forgot to give me. 
If anything you can always just give Good Sam a call and find out when they are doing the next classes in June & July.

I already got my pregnancy welcome bag and didn't say anything about the class. I am going to ask at my appointment on Monday and then will schedule myself for a class. I am so glad this was posted or we would have never known about it. Do they charge a fee for this class?

MY SIL and her DH did not take it. they really gave them a hard time when she eventually needed a C-section but they did let him in. they were not happy he did not take the class.

In case anyone needs to take this class, I called today about it. Upcoming dates are listed below. You don't need to register and the class is free. You just show up for the class that is convenient for you. Classes are held in the back of the employee cafeteria.
Tuesday May 10th from 8pm to 10pm
Saturday May 21st from 10am to 12pm
Thursday June 2nd from 8pm to 10pm
Saturday June 18th from 10am to 12pm
