I'm curious too! I'm scheduled to have it inserted in a couple weeks. I'm a little nervous since mine can't be done during AF due to BFing

mine is supposed to be inserted tuesday. both of us are 2 under 2 (i'm 2 in 16 months!) so i guess there's definitely a need for it!

Re: anyone use Paragard? (IUD)
i was also a 2 under 2
i have the paraguard. i have had 2 AFs since getting it inserted. the insertion was a piece of cake, no pain whatsoever. overall AF has been definitely heavier, lasting longer, and crampier. i am also having some very mild spotting in between.
BUT it's still early and i don't know how much of this is still my body getting back to normal after giving birth.
and the benefits are obvious
so i am going to give it 6 months and re-evaluate at that time...

Re: anyone use Paragard? (IUD)
I've had it for about 3 months now. I love the convenience of it. So far I am not thrilled with how heavy my periods are. But like alexlynn, I'm giving it at least 6 months.
Insertion was not a big deal at all. The worst part was all the bloodwork and sonos leading up to it - just a PITA.
Maybe TMI and it may just be a coincidence but uh, our sex life has improved dramatically since I got it.

i don't have to do any bloodwork or sonos. maybe because i just gave birth? why did you have to do it?
thanks for all the reviews.

Ditto to everything EXCEPT the 2 under 2
My periods have been RIDICULOUSLY heavy (I've had 2 cycles with it so far) - to the point where I would feel it gushing out each time I stood up for about 5 days. (sorry for the way TMI ) AF also lasted for close to 2 weeks each time.
I went for a checkup the other day and my doc said that most of what I"ve been experiencing should taper off in the next few months.
The benefits are awesome, though

Re: anyone use Paragard? (IUD)
I was a 2 under 2 mom too and when my older one was 16 months is when I had mine inserted. I was also EBF so I didn't have AF. Since I didn't have AF they needed to dilate me a little to put it in which was uncomfortable but it took 5 minutes to put in. The first 6 months my periods were very heavy but then it went to normal. I never had any break through bleeding either. I took it out after my little one was 15 months because we were going to TTC. By the time I told the dr. to take it out and that I was ready it was already out.
I really liked it and had no problems with it at all. The best part I think about it was that if I wanted to TTC that day I could have. With anything else your suppose to wait 3 months.

I had it for a couple of years before I started to TTC.. The first few months are rough but, then it's great! Give it the full 6 months.
