that bedroom at the end of the hallway was mine at my parents house!  sorry i didn't get to get you pics, betsy - but if you have any questions about how my parents decoprated in a certain room, i'm more than happy to help!
everything looks great! i love that green carpet! and i think that carpeting, esp in the bedrooms, is the way to go. it makes it cozier. and you're def right about DH's drums!

Thank you!!! Yeah, we wanted neutral incase ou furniture changes over the next few years, we know it won't clash with the carpet.

Betsy the carpet looks great!
I personally think that carpet on the upstairs of a house is good. You won't hear the noise as much and like you said with DH's drums it is much better than wood floors!!!
Can't wait to see what else you will do!!!

We are putting carpet over our hardwoods in the bedrooms. Makes for less noise from above!

We used Empire too and were very happy. So far everything looks great! Happy New Home...
We were in the same situation with some of our hardwood floors...but at least we know they are there and in years to come when we can afford to have them all redone all we have to do is lift the rugs...right?

Beautiful colors! I love the floors and I am such a fan of carpet too!! You could've gone either way, I LOVE the carpet and colors!!! Congrats and enjoy!

Looks great Betsy!!! We have hardwoods in several rooms, but have carpeting in the bedrooms -- I like it better that way, too!

Im not a big fan of hardwood floors at all....especially in the bedrooms....carpets make it so much warmer!!
Ditto. Hardwood floor require maintenance and frankly, I am too lazy to maintain floors. Your carpet choices were great. I can't wait for a HOUSE PARTY!

Thanks girls!!! And thanks to the lovely DH's of some good friends from LIW and DH's childhood friends, we moved all the furniture over to the house today and got it all set up. I can't believe I'm living in my own house!
As for that party - soon. I promise!
