Apparently neither of my kids like to sleep now....need serious sleep help!!!
My 9 1/2 mo. old is still waking in the middle of the night for a bottle. Occasionally, maybe once or twice a week he'll STTN. I know he doesnt really need the bottle but DH hates listening to him cry so he just gives in.
Now TJ who has literally been STTN since he was 2 1/2 mo. old decided the last 2 weeks he wants to sleep in our bed. He climbs in every night with us...I guess around 2 or 3. DH and I dont even hear him or feel him because we are so exhausted. And the past couple of night when we go to put him to bed he screams and says he's scared. Last night it took almost 2 hours to get him to bed and tonight the same. Last night he didnt fall asleep until 11 and woke up early with Derek. He was so overtired this morning he was acting possessed Screaming, crying, whining the WHOLE morning. Luckily today I went to work and grandma and grandpa got to play with him all day
Did anyone else 3 yr. old stop STTN? Wanting to come into your bed? Start saying they were scared and they want a light on? We are going out tomorrow to get a night light.

Crissy...Lucas has had a handful of nights like this too! I found him one morning sleeping under the ottoman next to my side of the bed.
We put a nightlight in his room and that seemed to help. I read somewhere that at this age it's common for them to be afraid of the dark and have nightmares. He's screamed out at night a few time

Re: Apparently neither of my kids like to sleep now....need serious sleep help!!!
Jack did this once a few weeks ago, when I went to put him back into his bed he became hysterical - grasping on to me. I ended up sleeping in his bed with him. He was so scared that he was practically sleeping on top of me.
Now when he goes to bed at night I ask him if he wants me to shut the lights(We have dimmers so the lowest setting leaves a slight light on) Sometimes he will have me leave it on, other nights he wants it shut.

He's cried in his sleep too and I can't wake him...I was thinking they might be night terrors.
TJ needs his sleep...he's like his momma with that If he doesnt get his sleep, TJ isnt happy and neither is anyone else

I left his door open a crack tonight with the hallway light on. Since than he hasn't gotten up.

I swear Jack was getting night terrors but during naptime. It was insane. Thrashing, kicking, crying. It was awful. These stopped once we moved him to a big bed which I think is so strange.

You just brought back to my mind the memory of Lucas going through that in the crib! That's right...he did! It's not as bad in the bed but when he cries at night we learned we have to wait and watch (love the video monitor) because if he is sleeping and we try to comfort him and wake him he will go crazy. I think they are supposed to soothe themselves with night terrors so they can learn to get passed them...nightmares you comfort because they are awake and scared...I think.

Yes, you are correct. In the beginning I was trying to wake him (I actually thought he was awake) but after doing some research they have to just work it out. Once it started happening I would watch in the monitor, it would last about 10 minutes but then it was over, he would go back to sleep, wake up shortly after just fine.

Yeah! Supposedly they don't remember it...unlike nightmares which they do for days. That's how I try to remember the difference. I hate the screaming at night...especially when it wakes you from sleep.
