Are there any Kid Friendly restaurants in Manhattan?
We're heading to the Intrepid and looking to get some dinner with our boys. Any suggestions? TIA

Here's my faaaavorite:
Mars 2112
I've heard it's a great place for kids from friends. Only downside is food is on par with touristy places.

Re: Are there any Kid Friendly restaurants in Manhattan?
Just about any restaurant is child friendly if you consider the time you're dining. What kind of food does you family like? There are so many good restaurants. It would be a shame to limit yourself to tourist places

Re: Are there any Kid Friendly restaurants in Manhattan?
There was just a Time Out Kids with every kid friendly restaraunt.
Are you looking for a relaxing place to eat where people won't give you dirty looks for being loud, etc - or an over the top experience like Mars?

Re: Are there any Kid Friendly restaurants in Manhattan?
We're just looking for something that my oldest son will remember. Nothing too crazy and if we're spending some $$, I would like the food to be half way decent. Thanks for all the responses!!

ESPN Zone. If you're going on the early side it won't be too crowded and nuts and what a place for boys who love sports.

Re: Are there any Kid Friendly restaurants in Manhattan?
We've been to these "touristy kid friendly places" and the food is AWFUL at every single one. You are paying for the atmosphere, and you are paying A LOT. Mars 2112 Jekyll & Hyde ESPN Zone Ellen's Stardust Diner Planet Hollywood
I'm sorry I don't have any suggestions, but if good food is what you are looking for, stay away from the above!

My inlaws and I took all of the kids to see Lion King one day and then went to John's Pizzeria. A couple of the girls on here recommended it to me. It's not overly expensive, the food was fantastic and you can totally bring the kids there!!

Sweetiepie Serendipity 3
Sorry I have to disagree with you on Serendipity....we went there for our DD's birthday and we waited forever for food and it wasn't even good. The ice cream was good but food not good and I didn't feel that the restaurant was kid friendly at all.

I second John's! Great pizza. Went to ESPN Zone with some out of town relatives and the food was not bad! Much better then some of the other theme places.

My older son is 7. I checked out the Mars website-I think that might work. Planet Hollywood also looked pretty cool too.

I live on the UWS and take DD out to eat all the time. Many places are kid friendly- especially on the UWS.

Re: Are there any Kid Friendly restaurants in Manhattan?
I took my friend and her family to Mars 2112.
Her 7 year old son thought we were really eating on Mars which made it worth the trip. I do agree with all the PPs though - the food was eh - they have a very kid-friendly menu though.
