Sorry I have to disagree with you on Serendipity....we went there for our DD's birthday and we waited forever for food and it wasn't even good. The ice cream was good but food not good and I didn't feel that the restaurant was kid friendly at all.
I have to disagree, I have eaten dinner at Serendipity about 75 times in my life, and not once has it ever been bad.
Each and every time it has been absolutely delish!
And every single time the service has been very good, we have never waited for food, yes we have waited for a table but thats normal there.

We took our nephews (ages 7 and 5) to Mars 2112 and they loved it. We did not go there for the food, but for the atmosphere. They had so much fun eating on "Mars" with the Martians walking around! I also did not think the food was terrible. The kids got chicken fingers and mac & cheese and they liked it a lot!

My inlaws and I took all of the kids to see Lion King one day and then went to John's Pizzeria. A couple of the girls on here recommended it to me. It's not overly expensive, the food was fantastic and you can totally bring the kids there!!

I second John's! Great pizza. Went to ESPN Zone with some out of town relatives and the food was not bad! Much better then some of the other theme places.
John's is a great place!!

i actually liked the food at mars 2112---this was going to be my suggestion to u as well....i think your son will like it
espn zone is like a tgifridays, etc.
i'd rather eat at mars 2112 than at the rainbow room i actually enjoyed the food better at mars than the RR
theres planet hollywood too how old is your son?
My older son is 7. I checked out the Mars website-I think that might work. Planet Hollywood also looked pretty cool too.
mars 2112 would be perfect for a 7 yr. old! they have characters dressed up as aliens and the whole place is decorated very 'spacey'! before being seated, you have the option of riding in a space ship and they do a virtual landing on mars! i think they also had a video game room too....he'll love it!
