My dad is the same way. I learned how to tell time both ways because of that.

Must be from their profession! Chat Icon

I grew up in Europe, so of course! Chat Icon PM/AM is not used there, it's 11:30 (morning) or 23:30 (evening).

I think most immigrants acually have a hard time adjusting to the AM/PM system because at first it's a little hard to remember which one is which. Chat Icon

I honestly just *THINK* of 13 as 1 after that its easy just subract 2 from the last number up to 20 10-2 which is 8pm

9pm drove me nuts so its just the odd ball at 21.

22 is the last number 2 minus 2 which is 0 .. add a 1 and its 10 Then 23 (3 minus 2 is 1 so its 11) and 24 is obvious.

Being back in San Antonio has made me brush up on it again BIG TIME. Its militarytown, usa! haha

On a related note, what kills me when people will just say 'Saturday night" when they really don't mean it, and they really mean Sunday morning.

At work sometimes we'll have outages overnight, and they'll say 'Saturday midnight' and sometimes they'll mean Saturday, sometimes they mean Sunday.

I have force the 12:01AM to get them to commit to whichever day. I cant imagine if I said 00:01 that would blow their minds. Chat Icon
