Are you going to routine yearly dr appointments?
Are you going to your yearly mammogram, yearly physical, etc? I’m on the fence whether to put these things off. I usually would have went months back, appointments were cancelled due to shutdown, but still nervous about going.

Re: Are you going to routine yearly dr appointments?
Yes, I've just started to this month. Also the kids well visits. They only allow them once a year due to insurance and you have to wait until a full year elapses. My kids were born in June, so I didn't want to wait much longer.

Re: Are you going to routine yearly dr appointments?
Of course. It's super important. Can you imagine missing something important ;in your long term health, like cancer, because of fear of this virus? As a relatively young, healthy woman, you have a bigger risk of dying of breast cancer left undetected than of Covid. Go to your appointments.

Re: Are you going to routine yearly dr appointments?
Ok first off, this is the biggest mistake you can make. Especially during this time. Your health and taking care of it, is the biggest priority always and more so now than ever. This is probably the best time to go because they won’t overbook appointments and have people waiting.
I went to my physical in June and I’m glad I went. And also thank you for posting this because it reminded me that I need to make my first mammogram appointment. Which is totally freaked out about and it’s making me feel old.

Are you going to routine yearly dr appointments?
Yes. I had a doctors appointment in April that we did virtually, and an in person appointment and blood work in June. Going for my yearly mammography the end of this month. Thought about postponing, but realized it’s important to go.

Re: Are you going to routine yearly dr appointments?
Absolutely.
In fact I'm trying to make them ASAP before we shut down again.
This is anecdotal, but the doctors we have dealt with so far all have people wait in their cars (no waiting room) and everyone is wearing masks. So far so good.

Are you going to routine yearly dr appointments?
yes and no. Next month I'll be due for my physical. Had a mammo, last one was Aug 2017. Last time I saw the OB-GYN was 2017, I stopped going after fertility treatments. I decided to book an appt for next month because my PCP keeps pushing me too.
I stopped a lot of follow ups including my cancer re-checks

Re: Are you going to routine yearly dr appointments?
Absolutely. I feel like this is best time to go. No waits at all. My annual gyn visit you call from car and they tell you if room is available for you to come in. It was great. Hand sanitizer everywhere.
I am scheduled for my mammo/sono (need to get both) next month and dr reminded me how important it is not to procrastinate.

Re: Are you going to routine yearly dr appointments?
Yup!
Went for my annual at my gyn, picked up script for my mammo & sono (waiting til after AF to schedule so it doesn’t Hurt as much) then right them there, going for my yearly physical at my PCP. I wear my mask, wash my hands before i leave and don’t touch my face at all until I am home and I’ve washed my hands well
I see it as no different than any other public place I go every day. The only place who may have seen more definite covid patients is my PCP, and they are extremely clean. Plus, like I said, I wash my hands before I leave and again when I get home.
It’s so important to go for your annual exams. It can save your life

Are you going to routine yearly dr appointments?
Yes! Had my physical a few weeks ago and went to the dentist yesterday. My other annual appointments were done in the winter before pandemic. I do still need to make an appointment with the dermatologist. I am full expecting that we will be in lockdown again in a few months, so want to make sure I get everything taken care of.
Edited to say I think this is best time to go...obviously doctors offices are following all precautions and it's probably the first time in the history of the world that they are running on time and you don't wait!!!!

Re: Are you going to routine yearly dr appointments?
My plan is to go now. I’m concerned about being in lockdown or just much higher numbers in the fall/winter.
My kids went to the dentist, I’m going next week and Obgyn next month. I prob have to nag DH 10 more times for his dentist appt lol. My son had his annual. My daughter would normally go in dec but she does not need shots so we will see how things are at that point.
I didn’t want to potentially wait 1-2 years for these things.

Are you going to routine yearly dr appointments?
My annual neuro & 6 month dental cleaning were both rescheduled for August due to the offices being closed in April. Both of these offices are in NYC; while I have some concerns about taking the LIRR & subway my biggest concern is about crime in the city these days. I have heard some horrible stories. So I am considering driving in.

This is exactly what I was thinking. What if things get worse and I put it off. It is the best time to go.

Are you going to routine yearly dr appointments?
I have. I've been going to my pre-natal appointments. Took my 6 year old for his check-up in June. We've all been to the dentist, I'm going later today. I'm not sure if I would have gone back in April/May (well except to the OB). But since June we have all been going for routine appointments. I was actually hesitant about going for my dental cleaning because I'm 7 months pregnant. But I feel like the risk is relatively low right because of the numbers and the dentist is wearing PPE. And who knows what the next 6 months will bring? I rather go for my cleaning now.

Re: Are you going to routine yearly dr appointments?
I haven't been going. My kids are due for their dental checkups but they have limited hours that just don't work for us. I have to get to the dermatologist, but the one I normally go to just stopped taking my insurance, so I have to find a new one. I have some spots I need checked and I've been putting it off.
Also overdue for my annual with my OB in addition to a procedure that was canceled (when covid started) to diagnose some issues. Scheduling it to begin with was a pain because of their hours and I have no one to watch the kids. Now they go to daycare but the OB's office is closed on the days they actually go. So IDK when I'll be able to get there for that. I've been trying to make it work, but with no family to watch the kids and the limited hours the doctors office has, it doesn't seem like it will be any time soon. I also have a broken tooth, so I have to get to the dentist. It only hurts sometimes so that isn't the worst of my issues.
So much was put off because of the virus that I'm just overwhelmed now. I make sure the kids are getting to the Dr when they are due, but for myself it's just too much. My anxiety just stops me in my tracks sometimes.

aww thank you. I really want no part of MD visits anymore. I Only went in 2017 for a mammogram because I lost my job and thought I should go once more, prior I held off too. Once done with IVF.......
The PCP forced me a little over a year ago because I needed medication renewal and I needed to see her first.
They laid off 25 people from my job last week. I'm going to see the Rheumatologist in case, he wont even speak to me on the phone anymore its been so long.
