At what age did your child watch TV?
I will put NickJr on at time for Riley to watch she is almost 6mths more for just background noise and maybe she will look at the tv but not sure if that is a no no

I sat him in fornt of the TV early...like 8 months and now at 13 months he loves the Nick Jr channel!! His favorite is yo gabba gabba...

DS didn't really like TV until he was about a year old.
He liked the baby einstein videos when he was 3-6 months.

DD would watch tv around 6 months for maybe 1/2 hour.. now at 12 months she wont sit and watch tv at all.. she would much rather be emptying my cabinets or playing with her toys

I was just going to post something similar! At two and a half months my baby is watching TV! I'm not sure if I should allow it. When sports are on forget it, he coohs and talks to it and everything. I was wondering if this was okay

early, we've always had it on. Now at 10.5 months my DS LOVES Yo Gabba Gabba and some others.
In fact, we pointed out Yo Gabba Gabba out at the Thanksgiving Day Parade on tv, he totally noticed!!

we always have tv on and DS would glance at it, now he will sit for a few minutes to watch something and he is 14 months.I put it on when he eats otherwise he won't eat

Ann is obsessed with basketball and football thanks to DH and ESPN.
We haven't put the TV on specifically for her yet (she's 5 months tomorrow).

My DD actually enjoyed TV from about 3 months on. We would put the Baby Einstein videos on for her when we needed a break and she loved the colors and music. It was soothing. By about 5 months she was watching some cartoons on Noggin/Nick Jr. She doesn't watch a lot of TV but she does have her favorite shows and movies now at 14 months old. I never had a problem with the TV in moderation of course. 
She loves the Tinkerbell movies, Mickey's Clubhouse, and The Fresh Beat Band right now.

DD is mesmerized by TV. She will always turn her head to watch it if we have it on. I won't put it on specifically for her yet, I want to wait a few months longer (maybe 8-12 months) and at this point (4 months) if I see her looking at it I turn it off or try and turn her away.

Since birth I have a 3 1/2 yr old so DD has always been around it.
I think TV is great for kids. Esp Nick Jr. Some of those shows have taught Andrew soo much. For example, Spanish from Dora or Chinese from Ni Hai (sp).

DD will be 11 weeks tomorrow and loves the TV. right now it's all about the lights she sees. we don't put it on for her, but if we're watching and holding her she loves it. i was worried about her watching TV so young, but our ped said it was fine, and that it's good that she's curious about watching it. i try to limit how much she actually watches, and how close she sits to the TV.

The TV has always been on. She didnt really care much about it for months. Except Ellen Show, she'd stop to listen to that, but only for a second or two.
About 3-5mo she started to kinda 'get it' as a place of color, music and sound. Its no different from a puppet show or frankly anything else as she had no concept of 'TV' vs reality.
By 6-8mo she had her 'shows' nick jr etc. She knew their songs etc. She knew by then it was a TV. That 'screen' type recongition.
By 9-12mo she knew her shows well enough to stop in her tracks. Sesame Street, Sid the Kid, Yo Gabba Gabba, Super Why, etc. She dances to the music.
Now she loves her shows and watches our shows only occasionally. We watch our shows after she's asleep. So our home is basically DVR to kids shows. She dances to the music, loves cookie monster on TV and smiles and claps with the audience of Ellen if I get a chance to watch it.

The tv was always on in the background....but she never actually sat and watched it until about 16 or 17 months old, I believe. And even then, it was only for a few minutes and she'd be bored.
Right around 2, she started paying more attention to it and can now watch full movies.....sometimes.

He watches it now if I am busy and I need a free hand....He likes Yo Gabba, Blues Clues and Miss Spider. He will be 4 months this week. I know some people say that's too early but honestly it keeps him occupied if I need to go make a bottle, dry my hair etc.

at 4 months he was obsessed w/ football - and the stupid Madden Xbox football ..........I keep telling myself it's the bright colors and quick movement ...........

My DD is 3 1/2 months old. She loves TV. Even if I just have the music channels on (in the 800s) she is looking at the screen. She likes to stare at anything that lights up- even lamps
She gets a kick out of hockey- DH loves that. She laughs at it and talks to herself. It's so cute.

That is SO funny because DS has LOVED Ellen since he was 3 mos old!
He liked TV early - at 5 mos he clearly had a favorite show (It's a Big Big World). I know TV isnt supposed to be great for them before 2 but he still loves Sesame Street and I feel like he's learned a ton from it.

My DD showed NO interest until 2 years old...now she will watch about an hour at a time and it makes me SO happy...sorry, but it makes my day and her day so much better...gives us both a small break.
