At what age did your DC transition to only 1 nap
DD sleeps about 10-12 hours overnight so maybe she doesnt need 2 naps a day? She wont take her morning nap anymore. But everyone is telling me she is too young to only be down to one nap. I think she does still need it too, b.c she doesnt make it through the day without being tired with just one nap. But I just dont know what else to do. She WILL NOT nap. She is sometimes in the crib for 1.5 hours not napping. When she does take one nap , its anywhere from 1.5 to 2.5 hours.
She goes to be around 6:30-7

Re: At what age did your DC transition to only 1 nap
Every child is different. As long as she is getting enough sleep overall, one or two naps shouldn't matter. DS went to one nap earlier than most. By 9-10 months he was only napping once a day for 2.5-3 hours. It made things easier for me anyway. I think this chart is helpful chart

Re: At what age did your DC transition to only 1 nap
12 months! For the first 12 months I structured my whole day around naps but then at 12 months I felt like there was stuff I could be doing wtih him if he didnt take an am nap. So we just dropped it cold turkey right after the holidays (his bday is 12/20)
He would wake around 7/7:30am...take a nap around 12:30 or 1 and then goes to bed by 9. originally he would take an 11am nap and then a 3pm nap.
Now at 22 months his schedule is about the same but his nap moves around according to what our day is like!
ETA: Personally if she is under 1 i would just put her in for both naps. DS is starting to fight his nap but I put him in and make him stay in his crib for a min of 1.5 hours because I figure the down time is better than nothing.

12 months. which is good because he started daycare soon after and they only get one nap. he sleeps from 3-3.5 hours on a good day, 2-2.5 hours on a bad day (which is still good).

Re: At what age did your DC transition to only 1 nap
DS dropped it around 12 months. I remember almost no other kids we knew his age did this, so I thought that was early, but from looking at the posts, it seems normal.
Honestly, I was worried about going to 1 nap, but once he started sleeping later in the morning and now early afternoon, it's great. So much easier to do things and plan around the nap.

Re: At what age did your DC transition to only 1 nap
DS dropped it himself at 10 months. I was fine with it. When he took two naps, they were 20 minutes each. Once he went to one nap, it was a glorious 2 hours!!!!!!!!

Re: At what age did your DC transition to only 1 nap
DS is 20 months and we're still transitioning... He's mainly on 1 nap a day now but we still have a day here and there that he takes 2 (maybe 1x a week or so).

Re: At what age did your DC transition to only 1 nap
At 15 months...she started sleeping later as a result (bonus!) but the 1 nap is no more than 1.5h, typically just 1h ().

Re: At what age did your DC transition to only 1 nap
about 15 months....
DS has always needed about 13 hours of sleep - he now sleeps about 12 hours and night and 1-2 hours for his nap.
