Re: Aunts and uncles. How involved are they in your kids lives?

On my side my sisters and brother adore my children and see them a lot. I am also very close to my sisters son. On my DH's side they all live in Europe but they hardly acknowledge them other then on facebook. I have tried to set up skype sessions but it never happens and a few times they never showed. I figure it is their lose not my girls.

My sister is involved with DD. On DHs side they live OOS and therefore aren't really involved. BIL hasn't even met DD and SIL met her once.

My twin sister is very close with my son and I hope I am close with her girls. My other siblings and my husbands brother see him but not a lot.

My sister is practically a second mother to my kids. Same for me wih hers. We work together M-F and the kids are with us. My one BIL is super involved. He comes around all the time, has babysat (although he's nervous with the baby). He loves my girls and my older DD loves him. My other BIL and SIL live in Queens and we rarely see them. Maybe once every 3-4 months. DD knows who they are but she's not comfortable around them. I can't really stand SIL anyway so no skin off my nose.

Brother and his wife, very involved. DS is 8 months and their son is 3 months, we are together a lot.

DH's sister is also very involved, she is younger and just starting her demanding career so she is sort of in a different place but still makes time for DS and adores him.

so thankful for my SIL and brother. they are very close with ds and are his godparents. My SIL has a ds as well and I have always been very close with him. Love having the cousins together whenever we can!! (we do live close to each other though)
