Re: Auto Insurance.. Who do you have and what are you paying?
We have Geico for a 1997 Honda Civic and we pay just under $500/year. We have basic liability and a higher deductable (I think).

Sometimes it pays to switch, or sign up with your existing company as a new customer so you get the new customer rates.
I was with allstate for 4-5 years; got a call from my agent telling me that if I drop the coverage and reapplied as a new customer, I would save 1K a year just because of the new promotions and rates. So I did just that.
Can I ask why you would lower your coverage?
As a professional I wouldnt advise it as a sale.
Travelers actually did the same thing because the rate sin their new program were wayyy better. I don't think it's a bad thing at all. Shes not lowering her coverage shes just being rewritten with the new rate.

I did not lower my coverage - I cancelled my account with them, and opened up a new account with the same amount of coverage for $1,000 less. They were giving better rates for the same coverage to new customers, not existing customers.
How's that for loyalty.

We have a 2001 Taurus & a 2004 Elantra. Great coverage amounts & lower deductible. We pay about $140/month with GEICO.

Re: Auto Insurance.. Who do you have and what are you paying?
We have Geico. We have full coverage.
We pay about $1600 every 6 months for a 2009 Mercedes ML 350 (Leased) and a 2009 Lexus RX 350 (Financed).
Did you check out Progressive? Before DH and I combined our insurance I had Progressive and I really thought their rates were pretty good.

Re: Auto Insurance.. Who do you have and what are you paying?
Geico
Just got a new car... Picking it up today actually!
I ended up getting a New Nissan Altima. They, because I was undecided between that and the Accord, gave me the loaded model with Navigation (it is beautiful - has every feature they come with). And I got it for less money a month than the other model - they really worked with me and came down very low - exactly where we wanted to be so we are pleased.
I am 25, I am paying $125 a month which is $1,500 a year. It could be as low as $1,100 or $1,200 but I have the highest levels on everything - Bodily Injury, Personal Injury Protection, Uninsured Motorist Bodily Injury - all the important stuff. After what has happened to my family, I'm a little paranoid so better safe, than sorry. I also have low ded. on Comp/Coll. as well as no ded. for Glass and full Glass coverage. So, it is a little more for that reason. My Property Damage coverage is also very high VS. the State allowed minimum of 10grand.
HTH!

Re: Auto Insurance.. Who do you have and what are you paying?
2 cars - one with full coverage and collision - the other with basic. one at fault accident in 2008 (I backed into a parked car), no moving violations or tickets and we both took the defensive driving course. We are married and Rob is in his late 30's, I am 40.
Had Allstate for over 10 years. They bumped our premium from 850 to 980+ on our most recent statement. We called Geico who offered us 670+. So we called Allstate to see if they would compete. After almost a WEEK of waiting they called back and offered to reduce us to 960ish. We switched to Geico.

Re: Auto Insurance.. Who do you have and what are you paying?
I've used them for about 4 years and added DH to the policy about 3 years ago.
Never had a problem.
