B12 Deficiency
So strange but I read the Xpost post on here from the Infertility board and the poster ( hopeful) said she had a B12 deficiency plus another issue.
I had a miscarriage in May, went to be regular doctor in October and she told me I was deficient in B12 and needed to start supplements immediately and I am due a recheck any day now as if my levels have not gone up she is going to up my intake. She said I was really deficient.
Now its gotten my thinking if this was something that may have caused my miscarriage.
Did any of you ladies have this problem or have you gotten checked for this?

Re: B12 Deficiency
Oh wow, I'm wondering if I have the same thing. I'm borderline vegan (meat or fish only 1x a month), so I eat no dairy at all. I didn't even think about this! Thanks for posting, I will bring this up to my RE immediately.

Just read a book called "To full term" and this woman suffered from Factor V Leiden, a blood clotting disorder...is that the same? She had several loss's and this disorder could have been the reason. She took Heparin shots.

Re: B12 Deficiency
I would definitely bring it up to your RE. I think all too often the OB's dismiss miscarriages - especially first miscarriages. I know my OB assumed it occurred because of my age - I was 39. No one ever ran blood work etc. Even my own general doctor never brought up the correlation but the more I read about it the more questions I have.
I have been a vegetarian for 25 years. I have read that your B12 supplies diminish over time and i guess mine have diminished.

Re: B12 Deficiency
I am a vegan and have had low vitamin B12 in the past. I take sublingual B12 pills every day. It defitnetly gives me a little more energy.
