Babies born with blue eyes did they change?

My dd was born with sort of gray eyes and now they are blue. DH and I both have brown eyes & brown hair, we do have relatives with blue eyes. I was wondering if they will they change. Did you dc blue eyes change and if so when, and to what color? Here is a pic of my dd, I'm wondering if this type of blue color will stick.

eta sorry the pic is so big I don't know how to make them smaller

Re: Babies born with blue eyes did they change?

My DD's eyes were blue until she was 8 months old, and then they turned brown practically overnight.

My DS' eyes turned brown by the time he was 3 months...a much more gradual change.

Both my kids' eyes looked to be about the same color as your DD's. I didn't notice the difference until I'd look at other kids that DEFINITELY had blue eyes...and it was easy to tell that they were always going to be blue, even at that young age.

My DH's eyes are brown, but mine are green...I was kinda hoping at least one of my kids would wind up with my green eyes Chat Icon

Re: Babies born with blue eyes did they change?

DD and DS were born with blue eyes.

DD's eyes turned bright blue and stayed that way. She is almost 3.

DS's eyes are strange. They were grey for awhile, then looked dark blue, and now they are a hazel/brown/green color. He is 6 months old.

I have green eyes
DH has hazel.

DD #1 was born with bright blue eyes, they changed to green at about 18 months.

DD#2 was born with blue, adn they are still blue at 5 months, although I think they are going to turn brown.

DS was born with dark blue eyes and they just got lighter and lighter until about 8 months. Now at 11.5 months, they are bright blue. Peds said that they'd bet money they will stay this way.

Re: Babies born with blue eyes did they change?

DS was born with that same color blue/grey as your DDs... but after about 3 days they went brown. In some lights it looked like they may still have turned blue, but brown they stayed. I have brown eyes and brown hair, but DH had blue eyes brown hair. What I've noticed with both our families if the Mother has brown eyes and the Father has blue eyes usually only the daughter gets the blue eyes. So we'll see when and if we get a daughter if she gets blue eyes LOL

Re: Babies born with blue eyes did they change?

DS was born with dark sapphire blue eyes. They got lighter blue month by month, and now at 16m, they're grayish/green.

DH has blue with green centers, and mine are green.

Re: Babies born with blue eyes did they change?

Both DH and I have brown eyes but with lots of parents/siblings with blue eyes.

DS' eyes were the same blue eye color as your DC. They are just a bit more blue now at 3.5 yo. It's not a light blue at all. This is the blue we have in my family side.

Blue eyes are usually "set" by 1-2 yo but it can change well into adulthood. Like turning grey or green.

DS was born with blue blue blue eyes. They've been progressively getting more slate, grayer and a little hazel tint to them as he gets older. He's 21 months and I don't think they're done changing. DH has light blue and I have brown eyes.

Re: Babies born with blue eyes did they change?

DS is almost 7 months and his eyes have been changing for the past month of so. When he was born he had a color similiar to your dd. His eyes are hazel now...not sure if they'll stay that way (me eyes are hazel) or turn brown like my dh.

Emmy had blue eyes when she was born and they have stayed blue, but gotten lighter. SHe will be 1 this month. Our ped says she is 99% sure they will remain blue. Joe's eyes are blue/gray and mine are hazel. My maternal grandmother and mother's eyes are blue, and Joes mother's, maternal and paternal grandmothers are blue as are both his sisters.

Re: Babies born with blue eyes did they change?

DD's eyes were literally navy blue when she was born...they gradually changed to my color. I would say around 15 mos her eyes had fully changed to a blue green/aqua which is my color...

Re: Babies born with blue eyes did they change?

My ds was born with bright blue eyes and he is now 16 months so far they're just as blue if not even more blue than the day he was born. I was just looking at some recent picture of us together and we have the exact same shade of blue.

I have blue eyes and my dh has hazel/green. My entire family is fair, light hair and blue eyes.
