Baby Eva's Birth Story 9/19/08
So after being 9 days late and no signs of labor, my doctor scheduled me for an induction. We went in at 5:30 a.m. and was administered a drug (forgot the name but a mild form of Pitocin) got checked 4 hours later only to dilate to 3 cm so they gave me Pitocin and thats when the contractions came strong and 2 minutes apart....boy, did they hurt....After the epidural I was on cloud 9 with a few shakes here and there....By 5 pm, almost 12 hours later, I was 9 cm....thats when it was discovered that baby was sunny side up....so they turned me to my side to try and get the baby to turn and thats when the fun began....the epidural started to wear off and they would not top it off because I would have to push soon so I was in immense pain and having terrible back labor as well as contractions because of the position of the baby...it was hell....After enduring almost an hour of back labor, contractions, pressure I was finaly ready to push...on my side!!! OUCH!!!!
Baby Eva was born at 6:46 p.m. on September 19, 2008 at a whopping 9 lbs. 5 oz. and 21 1/2 inches long....
Did I mention it was a vaginal birth??
All worth it!!
Almost two weeks later, I feel great!!
