Re: baby measuring big???
I wouldn't worry too much. I was told my ds was sooooo big all throughout my pregnancy. So big I would have trouble passing him. Long story short, like an idiot i got talked into a csection. A baby who I Was told would be at least 10lbs, weight 7 lbs 10 oz at birth. That has been one of my biggest regret. When I had my dd 3 months ago, i had to have a second c section because of how I was closed up the first time.

Re: baby measuring big???
I also do not put much stock into measurements. They told me my DS was going to be 9lbs and he was born at just under 8 lbs.

baby measuring big???
With my first pregnancy I was always told that my son measured a week ahead. At my last sono which was 36 weeks I think they said he was about 8 lbs. He was born at 38 weeks and weighed 8 lbs 4 oz. I would say go for a vaginal delivery and not do and section just bc of the weight bc the measurements have lots of room for error! If you can't physically push the baby out then obv they will do a section but I wouldn't make that call until you're in labor and pushing! Lol

Re: baby measuring big???
My DD measured 9lbs+ at 36 weeks, she was born 2 weeks later at 9lbs so they were definitely off.
Definitely discuss it with your doctor is you are concerned. My Dr. was pushing a c-section if I went to my due date.

baby measuring big???
im more concerned with the giant head. I don't want to start pushing and then he gets stuck and they cant push him back in to do a section! ugh

Re: baby measuring big???
My ds measurements were right on. I was told a week before he was 8.15. Then he came out at 9.11! He did get stuck, but my dr was awesome and got him out. Being that it's your second you have a better chance of getting out a bigger baby. If the baby does get stuck, they can still do a section. Stuff like that does happen. I would talk to your dr and see what they think. I personally would try before opting for a section.

baby measuring big???
DD was measuring just under 8lbs at my 37w appt. They never even mentioned induction or CS to me due to size. She was born at exactly 39w weighing 7lbs5oz.

Re: baby measuring big???
They estimated my girls a lb heavier and this was at the high risk with the better machines. We joke it was bc one measurement they use us the head and DD has always had a big head. Lol. Seriously shirts are a pain with her lol.
I've also heard of them saying a baby is over 9 lb and baby is born in the 7s. It's an estimate.

Re: baby measuring big???
With my first pregnancy, DS measured big all along. At my last growth sono, he measured at 8 lbs, 12 oz. He was born just under 24 hours later at 8 lbs, 13 oz. So they were pretty accurate!
