BTDT MOMS--measuring ahead/big baby??
So im 30 weeks and at my sono last week they said im measuring 33 weeks. Baby's weight was approx. 4lbs 7oz
I saw my ob today for my regular checkup and she had the results from the sono and everything looks great..big healthy baby. they want to do another in 4 weeks to see if he's still measuring big, etc. b/c she said we really might have to consider a c-section.
My question..those who were told they were measuring ahead with big babies..did you have to have a c-section..how did it turn out? I tend to think these measurements aren't an exact science and they could all be wrong..LOL
Im going to be seriously ****** if they make me go through a c-section and i have a 6lb baby come out.
I've never had surgery so the whole csection thing is scaring the bejesus out of me right now.

Re: BTDT MOMS--measuring ahead/big baby??
you know my story, but DS was measuring 2 weeks ahead according to my growth sono. He was 4lbs 4oz at 30wks. The tech told me I'd be looking at a 9+ lb baby if i went the full 40wks.
Funny enough, he was born exactly 2 weeks early and was just about 8lbs.
Did not have to have a C-sec because my water broke 2 wks early.
I just KNEW i was going early. I was in early labor @ 35 wks.

Re: BTDT MOMS--measuring ahead/big baby??
I was told I was going to have an 8 pound + baby. Abby was full term born the day before her due date at 6 pounds and 3 ounces. I was never told I'd need a c-section (even though I had one for other reasons). I actually thought they made an error when they told me her weight. Let's just say I dont give much credibility to those sonograms.

From 20 weeks on all I heard was that I was measuring big...even up to the end DS's head was not getting into place so easily and they kept saying he must be big (scared me so much because we were set to deliver vaginally). By the time I was ready to push he was in place...delivered an 8lb 11oz bundle of cries vaginally. But most standards that might be big but compared to the 9 and 10 pounds they were estimating it was nothing

Re: BTDT MOMS--measuring ahead/big baby??
I had my growth sono at 31 weeks and DD was just over 5 lbs. It was done at Madonna by a Dr and not a tech. They estimated about 10lbs If I went to term. I had a scheduled c-section(repeat,so I was having one anyway) 2 weeks early and DD was 9lbs 3oz. They were right on the nose. However, I have heard ALOT of stories where they have been WAY off.

Both my DC's measured ahead and were big babies...For mine, the sono techs were right on the money...
DS- 10 days early 9-12oz DD- 7 days early 9-13oz
Both scheduled c-sections due to size

Honestly, they were both very easy for me...I was hoping the 2nd one wouldnt be harder ( being as I had to still chase after my DS ) but it was even easier than the first ....I was even going up and down the stairs the day I came home ( you're not supposed to though )....
I too had never had any surgeries before and I was pleasantly suprised ( if there is such a thing )...the worst part for me, was gas pains so the 2nd time around I made sure the nurses gave me something for that before it became a problem and that did the trick !
