Baby Shower Menu
I am throwing a baby shower for a friend in a few weeks and I am hosting it at my house and cooking the food. It will be buffet style, but I have learned from my friend through talking about lunch and whatnot, that there are certain restrictions that pregnant women should follow when eating (like no cold cuts ) Anyway, she has also just taken a test for gestational diabetes and will find out the results this week. So with the pregnancy and the chance of diabetes in mind, would this menu be ok???
Drinks: Water, Iced Tea, Coffee, and Punch
Appetizers: Veggie Tray, Fruit Tray, Cheese and Cracker Platter, Chips and Dip/Salsa/Guac (probably not all of these, but probably 3 of the 4)
Food: Caesar Salad Baked Ziti Garlic Bread Sausage and Peppers Rice and Beans (very popular on her other side of the family) Cubed Potatoes
Dessert: White and Milk Chocolate Fondues (fruit, graham crackers, marshmallows, etc) Cake
TIA

Re: Baby Shower Menu
Everything looks good to me a long as you are using pasteurized dressing for the Caeser salad and cheese tray.
Some restaurants make homemade Caeser and use raw eggs which is a no- no.
For the cheese tray, avoid soft cheeses such as blue cheese, brie, gorgonzola and feta.

Re: Baby Shower Menu
Looks good! Also, keep in mind that not everything you serve has to be something she can eat. If you had an item there that was on the restricted list...she just wouldn't eat it. So don't stress much over it!
