I don't make bacon at home. I don't specifically order it but if it's already in a meal I order I enjoy it.

My husband on the other hand...who knows what of bacon bacchanalia goes on when I'm traveling for work.

Re: Bacon

Bacon is so disgustingly good I could eat it by the ton. I don't , but I eat it a few times a month. MY 2 year old LOVES it. I let her eat it, how can I deprive her of one of natures best gifts to man?Chat Icon

Re: Bacon

Yes. Maybe 1-2x a month. On a burger, in a salad, or if we are both off on the weekend and make a big breakfast. I don't have any in the house - would buy for occasion. Also about half the time we'll use turkey bacon.

We rarely eat bacon but when we do we allow the kids to have it. I really put very few restrictions on my kids.

Re: Bacon

I love bacon! Maybe once a month on average. I like it on burgers, and I sometimes get the microwave kind (that has a lot less fat) for breakfast.

Re: Bacon

I actually prefer turkey bacon over the real thing. But regardless of the kind it is we probably have it twice a month.

Re: Bacon

Love, love, love it. Eat about twice a week. I buy the nitrate free center cut bacon from Whole Foods. My ds loves bacon like his mommy, he has it 2-3 times a month.

I eat a lot of bacon. I eat organic uncured bacon, though. Honestly, it tastes 100x better

Bacon

Also IMO turkey bacon isn't really much better so I would rather have the real thing in moderation. I find turkey bacon to be even more salty so while you might save a couple grams of fat you make up for it in sodium lol give me a couple slices of the real thing once a month, thankyouverymuch !

Yes, we do. A lot. At least 2x a week.

What is so bad about bacon that kids can't have it? My DD eats a few slices when we cook it, it's one of her favorite foods Chat Icon

Same Here!

We have a breakfast dinner once a week and I will make bacon over the weekend for lunch (blt).

Both my kids love bacon so I have no issue with it. I have started buying the Trader Joes bacon (without nitrates) it is 12 oz vice 16 but comparable in price. It is less salty and a bit more meaty of a flavor. We dont need to worry about it going bad because it goes fast =).

LOVE bacon. I could eat a pound of it if you let me!

We let my kids eat it, but they don't really care for it. My 6 year old DD likes it with eggs, so she will eat a slice.

We did do turkey bacon for some time, but went back to real bacon. We limit it to 2 slices when we do eat it, and we have it maybe 2-3x a month or so (not every weekend).

I never thought about NOT giving it to my kids Chat Icon

I mean I know its not the healthiest food in the world, but if we go to a diner I always let them have a piece. But then again, my kids have a happy meal once a week and fast food here and there. The majority of their meals are healthy, I am just laid back when it comes to that stuff. i grew up eating bacon prob 2x/week and have always been healthy.

Same.

I rarely have it at home- but when we do I'd let them have it. Older DD isn't a big fan of it and younger is too young yet.
