Baptism preperation class?
DH and I have to attend a Baptism preperation class tomorrow night at the church.
What can I expect? and how long does it usually last?
I have to bring DD with me b/c no babysitter!

Ours lasted 1 hour and most of it was pointless. We had to watch a 25 minute video on what Baptism means, a lecture on what happens at the ceremony and then a walk through of the ceremony.
I was quite annoyed by the time I got home that night.

Ours lasted only about a half hour. I do know that we were NOT allowed to bring DD to it though and they made a point of telling us.

most people had their kids with them, it was 1.5 hours and the biggest waste of time. we had a little old mean priest who was preaching about gays and people who did not get married in the church ( I did not get married in the church so I was annoyed). my DS was screaming (happy screams) and he was getting annoyed LOL it was the WORST!!!!

Ours was pretty informal and lasted about 30 minutes. The priest doing the baptism basically just walked us through the ceremony, and gave us general tips (changing table in the bathrooms, where to tell family to sit, etc.) He also answered any questions we had.

I called the church to make sure it was ok to bring DD. They said it would not be a problem. Sometimes people don't have sitters. (which is my case)

Ours was about an hour.
Went around, introduced ourselves & said the date the Baptism would be and our childs name.
Did a quick prayer service. Walked upstairs into the church, did a quick run through of what to expect day of.
A lot of people had kids with them.
