Oh and my vote has nothing to do with Race or age as well. Did not mean to leave that out.

Lets keep voting in white male americans. They "look" like they would do a better job. Look how great the past 8 years have been.

I agree, I personally would not be comfortable with a president named Hussein. It's too soon...
Wow--your ignorance is just flabbergasting. You won't vote for someone based on their middle name or the origin of said name? How sad for you that you are just that narrow minded and simple. It truly disgusts me that there are people who think like you--and go on silly things like this vs. that actual FACTS and ISSUES of a canidate.
So if a someone has the middle name of "Adolf" because they're named after a family member -- you would probably determine that this person must be evil and should never elected to government?
Seriously--I actually feel pity for you.

Can anyone tell me what actually makes Obama qualified? That I would like to know . Forget his name, his religion, etc....does anyone have a link to more info about him, what makes him the BEST candidate, why we should vote for him, etc?

Wow...this is just so sad...you'd think that our generation would be a lot more open-minded...yes, everyone is entitled to an opinion but its just sad to see young people being so narrow-minded...I understand that there are a lot of issues and opinions concerning Islam but this should be the least of an issue...just sad.

I am pretty much as Conservative as they come, and don't want either Deomocratic nominee as my future President, but that has NOTHING to do with names, religion, or sex. Even if he was Muslim, so what? You think he is going to blow up the U.S or something? It is not like he has some button under his desk he can press and release some weapon of mass destruction.
People need to educate themselfs on their policies not on their canidates religion. If we spent as much time reading the Constitution, and educating ourselfs on FACTS instead of ridiculous proganda that only distracts us from the real issues, imagine the functional country we would have.
ITA! As a conservative, I am having the hardest time this election. I am not happy w/ Pres. Bush and to tell you the truth, when I hear Obama speak he inspires me...a card carrying conservative republican.
This election, you really need to educate yourself as to whom aligns with your values, ideas and belief system the most.

Hey listen, call my narrow minded and ignorant, but this is how I feel, and I am sure there are plenty more out there like me.
This is true - some people try to hide behind a politically correct facade, and may not admit their racism, but it is there....

Re: Barack Hussein Obama - Muslim?
Yeah this election has been hard for me too, especially since I loved Fred Thompson. It will really depend on who the VP is.
I totally agree that when Obama speaks he is very inspiring. And I think he is honest with his passion for this country, but I do not agree with his policies. So I will not vote for him, no matter how passionate and well spoken he is.

ITA. This is EXACTLY how I feel. Although, I did not love Fred Thompson. I like Ron Paul, Mitt Romney and McCain but I never LOVED a candidate. Does that make sense?

I totally agree with you. My problem with Obama is not his race or religion, but rather, that he has little experience, and that he keeps saying that he is going to do so many things, like pull out the troops, but he has yet to tell people what his plan for doing this is.

From what I do know, I don't find anything that makes me feel comfortable with Obama as our world leader, and that is mostly based on his experience. Nothing can replace experience IMO.
I think many people (not all), esp young people, are voting for Obama ONLY just b/c he is NOT older and white like all our past presidents (who many of us feel did wrong by us). Isn't that just as wrong as not voting for Obama b/c of his race/religion?
Now Obama could surprise us and be amazing, regardless of experience should he get elected.....that is a possibility. But the odds are people do a better job at anything, with the experience and practice behind them.

I totally get what you are saying. I am very into Federalism, and the Constitution which is why I love Fred Thompson. I would probably have been into Ron Paul, but I did not agree with his foriegn policy and that is very important this election

I think many people, esp young people, are voting for Obama simply just b/c he is not older and white like all our past presidents (who many of us feel did wrong by us). So a vote just for a "change" is not a vote for the right reasons, either.
JMO, but I don't think younger people are voting for Obama b/c he's younger than other candidates. People feel inspired when Obama speaks.
He spoke in CT on Monday. He filled the Civic Center, which is a very rare occurrence. There's something about him that excites people and makes them want to get involved and vote.

Some people did say that McCain is just another George Bush, b/c he is white, older male. So I do believe many young people are attracted by the fact that Obama is YOUNG and NOT white, and automatically assume that it must be if he is different he will be better! And they really don't know much else about why he is a good candidate/not a good candidate.

Some people on other threads here did imply that McCain is just another George Bush, b/c he is white, older male.
I DO believe that McCain is just another GWB but it has nothing to do with his age or that he is white. It has to do with his policies, his style and his beliefs.

I can agree with that as a good reason. But I have heard/read some people say that he is white, and older, so we already know how those presidents go..so let's not vote for him.

I completely agree with this. McCain supports Bush's stance on the war, which is a big issue to a lot of people. People see them as similar b/c of their views, not because both are older and white.

Hey listen, call my narrow minded and ignorant, but this is how I feel, and I am sure there are plenty more out there like me.
so, that's your solution.
to remain narrow-minded and ignorant?
to not replace your ignorance with facts?
to not look around and say "hmmm...maybe I should rethink this"
WHY do you feel that way?
do you think Barack Obama is a covert terrorist mastermind that will blow us all up?
do you think, for on IOTA of a second, that is this man was anywhere NEAR to being CLOSE to being 10 billions miles away from being a terrorist he would be not only serving in the US senate, but also running for PRESIDENT?
what is the foundation for your feelings...what do you think could possibly happen.
do yourself and everyone else a favor, and explore WHY you feel that remaining closed minded is the way to go.
your so hot when you make great points

Re: Barack Hussein Obama - Muslim?
I have several muslim friends, and love to eat middle eastern food.....
guess I'm unelectable too
It's fine... Society on a whole is rather base.... We don't like to admit it, but it's true. Sure, there will be thousands of people who don't vote for obama becuase he is black.... there are also thousands who won't becuase he has a muslim heritage.... there are also many who won't vote for hillary becuase she's a woman, and women can't ever have a position of authority.
this is life. To debate with people with these perspectives is a waste of time. their minds were made up decades before the election process even began. They never change.
