basement color

We are having our basement finished next week, now I need to decide on a color.
What color is your basement?

We are planning on selling the house within the next 6 months, so we aren't really going to use it all that much. I was just thinking maybe paint it white for the next owners??

I would do a nice creamy beige then... white is too sterile looking.

My sister just finished her basement and painted it pale yellow.

I think light colors work best in a basement, which can tend to look dark/closed in.

And you can't go wrong with neutrals when thinking of resale.

I wouldn't do white, though -- a lot of times white can make rooms look stark and institutional, in my opinion, whereas even an off-white can make it look more warm and homey.

we used bleaker beige and love it with the white trim...hth

We just painted our family room (which is the lower level of our high ranch) shaker beige with white molding and it looks great! Need to post some pictures!
