Beer Tasting Party
My DH wants to have a beer tasting party. What do I prepare for food? Finger food? Pretzels, sliders, popcorn, mixed nuts? Someone recommended sushi but I have no clue where I can order some.

Re: Beer Tasting Party
I had a beer theme 40th for DH last year. We had an assortment of beers to choose from, Pretzels from the Pretzel Factory with all different dips, mini dogs, chicken wings (honey BBQ, mild, hot and medium), sandwich roll ups, chips, dips, and pasta salads and potato skins. I got the sandwiches and wings catered and we made the potato skins and mini hot dogs. Wanted to make it easy and fun.
Sushi sounds fun too! You can order from anywhere that makes it. Even local grocery stores. DH doesn't like sushi so we didn't have, but the pretzels were a hit. We had set up a beer pong table and flip cup.

Sounds like it was a blast. Where did you order the wings and sandwiches. The less I have to do the better. Wasn't thinking about the beer pong table, adding to list

I ordered from a local Italian catering store. I'm in NJ though. Check out some caterers around you. They should have a catering list.

Beer Tasting Party
First thought is super bowl party: wings, chips/dips, pretzels, hero’s, some hot food. You know your dh and his friends so I would hear towards that. Sushi and nuts I would skip.

Re: Beer Tasting Party
I would not do sushi with beer. Most people think those two things do not go together.
I would do a variety of these things: cheese and cracker platter, chips and dip, pretzels with dipping sauces, wings or wing flavored meatballs, sliders/mini-hamburgers, nuts, heroes, nachos, a chili bar, etc. These are all generic hits that everyone loves with beer and all pair well with almost any beer. But, If I was having a beer tasting party, I would find the beers that will be tested first and then find foods that specifically pair with it.
Also a lot of beers go good with dessert. So I would have some sweets on hand as well-- chocolate pieces, chocolate cake, cheesecake, etc.

I didn't realize you wanted to cater. where do you live? I'm sure I could find you a local place to cater these types of foods from.

Re: Beer Tasting Party
see if your local bar has a food menu and delivers then order a bunch of appetizers from there. those always go well with beer.
we did something similar for DH's 35th. We asked guests to bring their favorite most unique beer and then we did a blind taste test where the birthday boy chose a winner. We had silly prizes for the top three.

Beer Tasting Party
Is there a theme to the beer tasting? My friend has a beer club that meets regularly, and they usually pick a theme for the beer, e.g. Irish beer, German beer, IPAs, etc and then the food goes with the theme. So my friend hosted in March, got a bunch of Irish beers and made rubens and bangers and mash.

I'm in Levittown. I can also prepare a few things but catering is always easier.

No theme. Everyone is instructed to bring in a unique beer. My DH and his friends are into craft beer and you should see them when they get together and talk about new findings

There’s a wing place in Farmingdale. I don’t eat wings so I can’t tell you if they are good but I hear good things.

Wings from Croxley's! I'm sure you could do sliders too. Yum.
