Best Age to Start Elf on Shelf Tradition?
What age did you start Elf on the shelf.
DD will be 2 1/2 at Christmas but I want her to really get into it and and enjoy it. I'm afraid she's too young and will just want to play with him (forbidden, I know!)
Should I wait until next year?

I started at 3, she mostly got it and enjoyed it but last year at age 4.. ........my DD was Elf on a Shelf crazy. SO into it. She was very sad to see him "go" after Xmas.

At 2 1/2 my dds didn't get it t all. I am going to try again this year at 3 1/2

We started with the first Christmas. Too young to understand but fun nonetheless.

we started it last Christmas dd was 2. She was young but she sorta understood it. She knew to look for her each morning and she would tell her what to tell santa she wants lol.
I cant wait for the x-mas now that she will be 3 I think it will be the best age for it.

We started when DD was around 2. She got the whole looking him thing and enjoyed it. Same with last year. I think it will be even better this year (she will be 4 next month)!

We wanted to wait until the kids would really be into it too... We're starting this year. They will be 3.5 and 4.5.
