Best jar tomato sauce?
What is your favorite jar tomato sauce?
I almost always make my own homemade sauce, but once in a while I don't have time and need to get something quick. Which ones are the best? There are so many varieties!

I agree and I am a jar sauce snob...but i only like the marinara versions.
i just bought a large jar of Mama Lombardis' marinara at Costco it was very good.

Re: Best jar tomato sauce?
Victoria's is my favorite and it sometimes goes on sale 3 for $10.
I also like the Simply Enjoy brand sold at Stop & Shop.

Re: Best jar tomato sauce?
For baking (like baked ziti, lasagna, etc), I don't use my homemade sauce because it's on the thinner side. I always use the Francesco Rinaldi Traditional, and it holds up really well in the oven.
ETA: The Bertolli Vodka sauce is outrageously good, and seems like it's always on sale at Shoprite.

Def the BEST one is Delgrosso Aunt Mary Ann's Sunday Marinara. It's about $7 or $8 a jar and VERY VERY Good

Re: Best jar tomato sauce?
If I do not make my own I recently discovered Pomi Marinara - it comes in a box. Its pretty good and tastes homemade. I also like classico for a jar.

Rao's
I think Victoria's sauces are way too watery.
We also like Tuttorosso.

Mario Batali
Its the only jar sauce I like - its worth the $
Coming from a very Italian household, we never ate jarred sauce growing up. I had to make baked ziti in bulk (3 large trays) and there was no way I was making the sauce for that. I happened to grab a jar of Mario Batali's sauce and it was absolutely delicious! Whenever I need jarred sauce, that's the only one I will buy.

I heard good things about Victoria
I am Italian and I LOVE LOVE LOVE Victoria Marinara. Actually prefer it over any family member's homemade sauce (I dont even make my own since I love this one so much).
