Best thing to take to boost immune system?
I keep getting sick. I don't take a vitamin but want to start taking something. What's the best thing? Vitamin, vitamin c?
What do you take and what brand.
Thanks

Elderberry is GREAT. I also take a vitamin D3 pill Cod Liver Oil
The best thing is constant hand washing, and clean your phones, cell phones, computer keyboard and mouse, channel switchers.

Re: Best thing to take to boost immune system?
Oh you know what else? A saline nasal wash. Like Simply Saline. The hairs in your nose catch virus and bacteria, etc and if you can flush them out before they get into your nasal passages, it works wonders. It's a light mist- I don't like nasal sprays at all and I can handle this. You do it morning and night. I find it helps.

ITA! I actually hold the spray in one nostril while I lean over the sink and spray it until it flushes out the other side. And then repeat going the other way.
And I recently drank apply cider vinegar w/ raw local honey and lemon while I felt like I was getting sick. And it knocked whatever I was getting right out of my system after only 3 doses. It was kinda gross but worth it.

Re: Best thing to take to boost immune system?
One more! I find that a daily probiotic helps. They say most of your immune system is in your gut. I take it for my stomach issues but I find I am sick so much less since taking a probiotic every day.

Best thing to take to boost immune system?
I do a combo of what most everyone said above. Probiotic daily, elderberry daily, a young living essential oil regime, I also take fish oil, vitamin d, and a few others for other heather reasons. Also I spray dd's nose with saline daily after daycare. Also I add trace minerals to my water. All of our food is significantly less as soil is less. I buy from amazon. ConcenTrace is the name.
But besides all of this the most important thing is what you eat! As much fresh whole live foods. Stay away from processed foods and chemicals. MSG, artificial dyes, artificial sweeteners, anything hydrogenated. I also stay away from all corn and soy unless organic (definite gmo's). Getting proper rest nightly along with exercise is important too.
It is a combination of a healthy lifestyle. You can't eat mcdonalds every night and take elderberry and expect to not get sick.

Yes! The honey, apple cider vin and lemon shot works wonders! But it has to be raw organic unprocessed honey. I like braggs with the "mother" vinegar.
Saline spray is great too. Also a netti pot once a week is similar and will keep sinus flushed and cleaned.

great advice. I take a soil based probiotic, vit D and Great Lakes Gelatin. if I feel something coming on, I take elderberry or raw apple cider vinegar with mother/raw honey a few times a day. I also add concentrace trace minerals to my water ;)
diet is huge. I eat a paleo diet (includes a lot of veggies, even at breakfast), and while everyone is now suffering with allergies, I'm perfectly fine (I used to suffer from seasonal allergies). I practice yoga daily, walk for 20 minutes and dry brush. I practice deep breathing exercises at least once a day.
I also use DoTerra Essential oils--On Guard or Breathe if I feel something coming on.

Re: Best thing to take to boost immune system?
One of the best habits I started is two cups of green tea daily. Helps allergies, immunity. I add raw local honey in the fall/winter.

Re: Best thing to take to boost immune system?
thank you everyone.
It's very weird. I've had a constant sore throat for a week now but I knew there was nothing wrong. (strep etc). But i went today and strep came back neg so they are sending a culture out and I should know by tomorrow.
But I'm sick again after 3 weeks ago having a nasty ear infection and been feeling crappy since. I'm sure my dd brings stuff home from school. I am the only one who is sick no I don't think it's contagious.
I have heard of elderberry syrup. I will try it out.
Thanks

The throat could be allergies, try an allergy pill from the drugstore.

My dad has horrific allergies. I started making him pills with 3 drops lavender oil, 3 drops lemon oil, and 3 drops peppermint oil. He feels his allergies are alleviated. Make sure you get oil that is therapeutic grade and can be ingested.

It helps me a lot! I get sinus congestion, the green tea definitely helps! It also helps my throat. Try it - it cannot hurt. It also has tons of health benefits: speeds metabolism, boosts immunity, etc.

I buy at wild by nature most recently. I know value drugs carries it too and I am sure fairway has it as well. Not sure about traditional supermarkets but would think some carry. It has to say "with the mother" on the label.
I also cook with it and make awesome kale chips that taste like salt and vinegar potato chips and a chic pea and kidney bean dish that is so crunchy and filling and awesome.
