The throat could be allergies, try an allergy pill from the drugstore.
Yep for me NY set off my allergies in a whole new way and unless I took my meds I suffered.
Ironically I started them in Texas but either the NY exposure or AJ being bored (hormones) I no longer have as bad allergies. Tho they can be triggered still.
I say try an antihistamine first.. see if its just bad allergies.
If you've never had allergies ... you can still have them. I got mine late.

I also recommend showering at night. I know everyone likes to shower in the am to wake up or do their hair, but I HATE going to bed dirty. I HAVE TO wash off the day. Maybe it's because I'm a teacher and I'm with kids all day, but I don't like to sleep and fester in all the germs.

sleep!
Each time I get sick is when im run down. If Iam not sleeping well, or have a few late nights out, or seem to be run ragged, you can bet i will be sick. It's like clockwork. Even if it's just a lil cold, it always happens when I'm run down, as your immunity is lowered by lack of sleep.

King Kullen has Braggs Apple Cider Vinegar with the Mother.
I recommend drinking Keiffer yogurt drink for its many strains of probiotics. It makes a difference for me. Its helped me knock back a nasty yeast infection, and gave me the kick I needed to get rid of Lyme after four months of antibiotics didn't quite rid me of it. It repopulates your gut which is the basis of overall good health.
