Beta/Blood Testing Questions
We just got a BFP last night. My last period started 7/13, I ovulated on 7/27. I am 17 DPO.
I had my blood drawn this morning, my beta was 104 and my progesterone level was 24.1. I know they are expected to double in 48 hours.
Does anyone have guidance for me? We are very nervous, as my doctor has told us we will "miscarry everytime" unless taking progesterone suppositories and shots (which I started today).
My progesterone on day 23 of my period (during fertility testing) was a 3.
Thank you for any advice - I am so confused and overwhelmed!

Re: Beta/Blood Testing Questions
Congratulations!!! Your levels seem to be right on target... especially your progesterone. Your beta should double within 48-72 hours. That's a silly statement for your doctor to make. They usually only prescribe supps if your levels are <10-15. I wouldn't stress it, 24 is a good level for 17dpo. My progesterone was always <10 in the first couple of weeks when I was pregnant with my DS. Good Luck!!!

Re: Beta/Blood Testing Questions
i really really hate his use of words...and to be honest i do not get them bc unless u r pregnant every cycle how can he tell?
all he can tell is it u ovulated based on the number
now..yay! congrats! happy and healthy 9 months!
that is a great number a nd really good progesterone number without being on supps or anything and i am also surprised u r going straight to PIO rather than just supps
but the good thing is it is easily fixed and u r doing what u would do to fix it
mine was lower with my first beta and i was on PIO and e2v so they switched me to endometrin 3 times a day plus PIO and it shot right up
i know it is hard but try not to worry everything seems to be going just fine!

Re: Beta/Blood Testing Questions
Congrats!!!
A progesterone level of 24 is good! I'm actually surprised the dr is putting you on any supplement with such a good level. Without knowing your history, I guess he's being overly cautious?

Beta/Blood Testing Questions
I followed up with him - he proscribed the progesterone before my bloodwork came in. He said continue with suppositories, hold off with shots, and we will regroup when Beta 2 comes in.
