Binky weaning
How did you wean your child off the binky? Mallory uses it whenever she falls asleep for her nap and at bedtime and she wakes up if she loses it My son never used a pacifier... So I'm wondering when and how you weaned from pacifiers. THANKS!

Re: Binky weaning
I cut a little hole in the top of my daughter's least favorite doddie (binky) first and told her that she was too old for it so when she sucked on it she must of sucked too hard so it caused a hole, each week I cut a little hole int he top of another doddie until they all had holes in them. Once they have holes int hem the satisfaction of the sucking is gone. Good luck!

Re: Binky weaning
My mother told me that when were were little, she told us that she lost them all....she couldn't find them...that was that. She did the same thing with the bottles when she gave us a sippy cup.

Re: Binky weaning
I'm a bad mom - cox sackie did it for Joseph. He handed it to me & said "Fire hurts". We threw them all away. When he asked for it, I said "All gone!"
He was really cranky (like a smoker who gave up cigarettes) and thrashed around in his sleep for a good 4 days. I almost gave in but the thought of going through another 4 days of him when I wanted to wean him in the future stopped me. It took 2 weeks for him to be a sound sleeper again, but we were done.
Still at a loss as what to do about thumbsucking though. I'm thinking it's going to take her classmates ridiculing her in elementary school...

I can tell you this - the early you do this, the easier it is.

Re: Binky weaning
I took it away - cold turkey at 4 months - she never missed it.
