Birthday Party on Columbus Day?
Would you go to a birthday party on Columbus Day? Most people I know with kids are off that day as schools are closed.. Do a lot of people go away that weekend?

I wouldn't since I have to work. A lot of companies aren't closed that day.

I'm not off that day, so I wouldn't but if your friends are off than go for it. We are having my DS's birthday party the Saturday of Columbus Day weekend. I don't think most people travel that weekend. Growing up in MD, we never had that day off school so I never thought of it as a travel weekend.

I personally don't like events on holiday weekends. I feel like every long weekend is always for a wedding. I think we have gone to a wedding on Columbus day weekend every year.
I would avoid having a bday party on a holiday if you can avoid it.

It is just a kids party at a play place...And the parents of the kids I am inviting are off.. I will be saving $100 on the party if I have it that day..I am going to do a save the date and see how that goes... Thanks....

I would totally do a party on this day and would go! We're talking a 2 hour tops kids party not 4-6 hour wedding to do.
