Boy and Girl sharing a room?

I was wondering if you would have a DD and a DS share a room? I know as infants its no big deal but would you as they got older like toddler age? Or would you always have them in separate rooms?

Re: Boy and Girl sharing a room?

I shared a room with my brother up until I was in 4th grade.. He was 4 years younger than me. My mom had no choice since she was a single mom and thats all she could afford bcak then.. We had no problems and we used to have soo much fun. Actually I remember my mom always yelling at us to stop talking and go to bed..lol. My niece and nephew share a room. Actually, both sets of nieces and nephews share a room! (Meaning my brother's kids AND my sister's kids).

There are no issues. My niece just turned 12 so they put up a divider in her room, my other niece is 5 so they are not up to that yet. They enjoy it.

I know when my older niece turned 6/7 my sister started to emphasize only getting dressed in the bathroom and teaching her about privacy.

My brother & I shared a room until I was in 5th grade. I am 3 years older than him. It was actually fun. We would wake eachother up on Sat mornings in time for cartoons & make a pillow fort to watch TV from.. lol yes, we had a TV in our room.

Thank you ladies! I don't know what I am having yet and if it is a girl they may need to share a room for a little bit. Probably not till they were 12 but I just felt bad about it.

Just wanted to add that my twin brother & I shared a room for a long time too...I think until we were 9 or 10 (and then our playroom on the 1st floor became my bedroom). We had no problems either - like the pp's we'd get up early to play & we'd stay up late talking...it was always nice to have a companion if you got scared in the middle of the night Chat Icon
