boys vs girls

Do you think boys are easier then girls when they are babies? I always heard people say that they are but I never really thought about it. Now that I've been talking to other mothers it really does seem like boys are just easier. Everyone that has a girl seems so much more stressed & sleep deprived (like myself) Maybe it's just the people I've been talking to but I was just wondering if anyone else has noticed this.
I've also noticed a lot of only children are girlsChat Icon

Re: boys vs girls

I have twins so I see both sides at the same time. In the beginning my daughter was easier. DS had reflux and wanted to be held all. the.time. She was very easy going. Now at 17 months I get more of an attitude from her. She scratches and tries to bite when she's mad. My son is still fairly clingy too but he's getting a little better. They have both had the same sleeping habits since birth so no difference there.

Honestly I think you'll hear it go both ways. Every child is different.

no way! i have the boy from hell and it is impossible to compare him to my girl or even my other son. my older son was so easy. it all depends on the child.

No way, people tell me boys are tough in the beginning and get easier as time goes on. I have 2 boys, dh and I truly have our hands full. Girls are so much easier until they become teens Chat Icon

Re: boys vs girls

I think it really just depends on the baby. My DS cries 24/7 so I do not think boys are easier.

Re: boys vs girls

Ive actually always heard girls are easier than boys when they are younger, and then it switches because girls turn into bitttches when they hit puberty!

I think it's just all about the individual though.

My DD is a piece of cake so far. She is only 5 months.

LOL as she just whined from her crib. She does keep me sleep deprived. Waiting for the day she will STTN!

it depends on the child...i have two girls...the younger one is super easy and the older one has gotten easier, but she still isn't easy going like her sister.

Re: boys vs girls

DS was a very easy baby and became much more difficult at 2 and is still a handful. DD is pretty easy also, but not nearly as easy going as DS. I really think it depends on the child, not the gender.

Re: boys vs girls

All I know is my DD is the most difficult child I know.
From the day she was born until now.

Not sure if it's related to her being a girl or just her temperant but LORD HAVE MERCY!

She was a horrendous newborn and really bad toddler.

I know a lot of boys that seem so much easier - but who knows

Oh god no!!! Not at all!!!

I think as babies and little kids girls are SOOOOOOOOO much easier!!!!! I think as a teen my DD will be a PITA but the past 3 years..........the kid is a DREAM!!! Seriously, she could NOT be easier. I literally cannot think of one thing she does that drives me nuts. She has been an amazing sleeper since birth, she is so easy going, she always listens, she is helpful, she doesn't climb on anything, she can entertain herself, she sits quietly and reads or plays with her toys........in the right way!! It's a breeze having a girl, I truly do not have any stress whatsoever. Easy, easy.

Now...........my friends with boys!!.............I do NOT know how they survive day to day. It's like chasing after little monkeys all day. Chat Icon They are constantly bouncing off the walls, they never sit still, they don't listen, nothing holds their interest. I thank god every day I have a girl!!! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

That's just rude

To the OP- My DS was an easy baby and is now an easy 4.5 yr old...laid back, go with the flow, just a great kid. My DD was also a sweet, friendly baby but is more active the DS was (and yes she whines more LOL). She's only 2 though. I don't necessarily think gender has anything to do with it. I have two nephews-ones easy, ones not, it's their personalities

That's just rude

Not just rude- untrue.
The behavior she described there is EXACTLY my girl.
I love her to death but sometimes WISH I had a boy.
So I don't think you can make a sweeping generalization like that.

I wasn't being rude, you're WAY too sensitive.

My point, which was meant to be a funny comparison and not rude, was that I've observed that boys are way more active and way less interested in sitting still then then girls. This is what I've noticed from the little boys and little girls in my life. Are you really going to be offended because I said that boys are more rambunctious and more active then girls, I would think *most* people would agree with that. It's nothing to get upset over.

And it's not rude to be thankful I have a DD. I love being a girl mommy but don't get me wrong, if I had a son, I would be equally as happy and thankful for him too. Geez, people get so worked up over nothing. Chat Icon

Of course, I 100% agree. CLEARLY I am making a statement based on the boys and girls I know in MY life. Of course, it goes without saying, that EVERY child is different and I'm sure there are plenty of easygoing boys but that has not been MY experience. It's really nothing to get offended by. Everyone has a different experience and a different perspective.

Re: boys vs girls

I think it truly depends on the child.

I have a 5.5 month old son and he is awesome. SO easy, great sleeper and hardly ever cries.

My sister has a 7 mo old girl and she has yet to sleep through the night and is into everything but thats just her silly personality (which I find adorable yet exhausting). My BFF's girl was SO much easier than her boy is right now. So again, I think its all in the child's personality.

Seriously people, if you're going to post on a public forum you need to either get a thicker skin OR at least be able to recognize when someone was ACTUALLY being rude over being just funny in their response. This.......Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon ............indicates humor. Good lord, get over it.

I'm not going to go back and forth, this doesn't warrant any argument or 8 pages of back and forth fighting over NOTHING. Sorry that some of you don't have a sense of humor.

In any case, I of course stand by what I said in that it has been MY EXPERIENCE that girls are easier than boys. MY EXPERIENCE!!!! I'm NOT speaking for society at large or making sweeping generalizations. I'm sharing MY EXPERIENCE and OBSERVATIONS. Mine alone. I'm sure many of you have had other experiences which then form your opinions. And yes EVERY child is different, that goes without saying.

Now please..............let's just continue on sharing OUR experiences and not get upset because you don't like how someone else views things.
