Lastly, some might "thank God" they only have girls, but if it weren't for a certain "boy" that little girl wouldn't exist today. Chat Icon

Oh god no!!! Not at all!!!

I think as babies and little kids girls are SOOOOOOOOO much easier!!!!! I think as a teen my DD will be a PITA but the past 3 years..........the kid is a DREAM!!! Seriously, she could NOT be easier. I literally cannot think of one thing she does that drives me nuts. She has been an amazing sleeper since birth, she is so easy going, she always listens, she is helpful, she doesn't climb on anything, she can entertain herself, she sits quietly and reads or plays with her toys........in the right way!! It's a breeze having a girl, I truly do not have any stress whatsoever. Easy, easy.

Now...........my friends with boys!!.............I do NOT know how they survive day to day. It's like chasing after little monkeys all day. Chat Icon They are constantly bouncing off the walls, they never sit still, they don't listen, nothing holds their interest. I thank god every day I have a girl!!! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

I am not sure why everyone thinks this is rude. I have a daughter and she is a peach. My sister has a girl and a boy and the girl is way easier in the beginning then the boy was. Is this the case for everyone? No. But Hoftra26 was just giving her opinion, which was asked of the OP.

I don't think anyone finds her opinion that girls are easier to be rude....it's in the delivery of how perfect her child is and what a dream she is and thank God she doesn't have a crazy, unruly boy. It's RUDE and judgmental and all look at how perfect my life is and yours all sucks.

It may not be the message you intend to send Hofstra, but it sure is the message received.

And if this was the first post of it's kind, most would probably let it go, but this is an unfortunate pattern with Hofstra, who NEVER misses an opportunity to post how perfect her life is....especially on those threads where people may be suffering and looking for support. It's sad really

Which is a sure sign that their life is proably far from perfect and they need to overcompensate and use LIF as an outlet. That's what it is sad.

Wow............u sure have me figured out. Chat Icon Such a silly assumption. I didn't realize u were only allowed to post ur opinions on LIF if ur life sucks. Sorry it is offensive to some that I have a good husband and a lovely daughter. Oh the horror of it all. This whole think is nuts, it was an off color comment not meant to be rude in the least. Just get over it already.

Re: boys vs girls

I only have a girl and she's pretty easy....but I know plenty of boys who are darlings as well, so I think it's pretty individual.

And as a general observation....if you say (write) something...and the majority of people who respond to it take offense....sometimes it's better to step back, re-read what you wrote and see if maybe it was a teensy bit offensive. And then....maybe apologize for accidentally offending people. It doesn't mean your opinion is wrong....it means that it didn't translate well on the internet.
And that usually goes over better than the whole defensive routine where you tell everyone else that they're wrong.

Wow Li..........u of all people should know me better and know what I meant. We have known each other over twenty years.

It was an off color comment making the point that boys are way more active then girls. That is all.

I'm not going to get into a back and forth LIF exchange with you but REGARDLESS of how you are IRL...the comment was rude. Seeing as you clearly said you are basing your opinion on your friends' boys and seeing as I am one of 3 of the girls with boys...yes I found it rude. I don't see how I could not have been offended. I am hurt by your comments...that is all. This is the last I will respond to this thread.

I'm not going to quote because it's getting too long...

I don't think anyone has you "figured out", but when "I" read a reply of yours , here is what "I" can pretty much assume I am in for ...Obviously these are made up examples (well sort of I guess Chat Icon )

OP: So upset, my DH and I just don't seem to be getting along anymore and are considering divorce.

Poster: So, sorry to hear that. My DH and I have been together for 20 years and nothing could ever break us apart Chat Icon

OP: Concerned about my 3 year old. He is having trouble with the alphabet song

Poster: Wow, that stinks...My DD has known the alphabet song in both english and french since 18 months of age Chat Icon

OP: Just lost my Grandma at 78 years old ..So sad

Poster:

That must be terrible ...DH and I both have our grandparents and they are healthy as a horse ! Chat Icon

OP: We may be going into foreclosure, my DH is out of work and we've exhausted all of our savings...

Poster: We have 10 more years till we have our mortgage paid off....DH makes GREAT money ! Chat Icon

Emoticons only mask so much ....

Now I really went off track here (sorry yet again OP) , but it's bothering me to sit here and watch the back and forths.....

And FWIW, you and I have never had any personal beefs on here, but I have seen some of your responses in the past and they make me cringe knowing that you may be intentionally or unintentionally hurting peoples feelings..Maybe it's just how you are, but thats doesn't make it right...

This post is getting too long-winded. Brief summary:

- Some boys are hard
- Some girls are hard.
- Nobody likes bragging. Keep it to yourself.
- Always remember which of your IRL friends are also on LIF before talking trash about their kids.

Yes. We will be together for 20+ years, have a connetion no one else can understand and/or break, we will have our house paid off in 5 years or less, and our children shall learn no less than 42 global languages.

Re: boys vs girls

I can't answer from personal experience as I only have one child, a girl. She is a sweet pea and pretty easy although I have nothing to compare her too.

In my experience from the people around me, it seems like more of my parent-friends have a difficult time with their little girls as opposed to little boys. Not a sweeping generalization, just my experience based on what other parents i know well have told me.

Honestly I don't think anything I just said is really different from what Hofstra said (although she had the opposite boy/girl observation) and I really don't find anything outrageous about what I just said....
