Boys with curly hair - UPDATED with haircut pics!
how do you have their hair cut?
Landon's hair is super curly now and he is constantly mistaken for a girl. I want to cut his hair but think it will look weird short because of the curls. He has had 2 hair cuts before but his hair was straighter then.
I added pics s you can see what I mean. The front is a scraggly mess and the back ad sides are tight curls.

Ryan hasn't had his hair cut yet - we were thinking of taking him this weekend but I'm still torn about it. It's getting long in the back, but not really in the front.
I was wondering, if they cut it, if his hair will have tight curls - I have a feeling I'll just let them slightly trim the long strands.
ETS: I think you should just have his bang area trimmed - and leave the sides, they don't look out of control - yet

this is a great question - DS isn't close to having his hair cut yet but i don't want him to lose his curls! not sure how DH feels about boys with long hair though

I'm definitely not worried about his losing his curls. His baby curls are long gone, this would be his 3rd haircut!
I don't know if you can tell from the pics but on the side and back, the hair curls from the root. So if it was cut short would it look messy?

Jack hates getting his hair cut so when we do it - we go super short (buzz cut) let it grow in all the way back to really curly, and then start all over again!

Dont have pics at work to post for you but my son's hair is similar to your sons and we get it cut not super short (I like to see some curl  ) and it doesnt look weird. I can post pics later.

Julie- I dont' have an answer but crashing b/c that last picture of him and Ray is ADORABLE!!!!
Also, you may find that when you cut it shorter you'll loose some curls.

I have the same question. I haven't gotten DS's hair cut yet. I am afraid he'll look like a big boy lol. But I think it's starting to get out of control. He is mistaken for a girl all the time. His hair is similar to your son. Kind of straight on top, longer tight curls in the back. I think I may just get the curls trimmed up. Maybe I'll just go to a shop & ask their opinion. I just don't know what to do! Here are some pics.

DS's hair is curly - a bit curlier than the pics you posted - at first we kept it long but now it is cut neatly but not too short - we have kept it like this for three hair cuts - only problem is, he is getting his hair cut once a month. The curls look great b/c they are tighter and neater and no more getting mistaken for a girl! The curls in the front I either push to either side or they fall in the front like bangs but not as long as bangs if that makes sense. I would post a pic but, I hate posting pics of DS on the internet! If you are really curious lol let me know and I will FM you

DS has curly hair. He had it cut at about 8 months when it wasn't too curly. It got really long and curly. I liked it, but it was a lot to deal with. We just cut it last week. I told the girl I didn't want it too short, long enough to still curl. It's a little curlier than your DS though.

Athan has crazy curls in the back and side too and I don't want to cut it either 
Dawn (DMarieK) cut Rylan's hair recently and he has super cute curly hair and he looks like such a grown up little man now with his big boy haircut!

My DS has really curly hair... We keep it short, if not it's a frizzy curly mess. I don't have a before pic on this comp. but this is his cut. You can't really tell but basically it's cut 2" around, no part or anything.

Julz, I have to say that I think his hair would look great cut short. I think it will lay down just fine. I think his hair is not too too curly and he may end up just having a wave in his hair.
