I'm only PG, so don't know too much about this, but do the babies go straight to this seat from the hospital? It talks about fitting babies 5-60 lbs., but people are talking about using an infant carrier first?

They can.

Most people choose to use the carrier b/c it is more convenient then the convertible.

How so? Do you use that until they are the weight to face forwards? Chat Icon

Use which?

If you use the carrier, it is only rear facing. If you use the convertible, you can use it rear or forward and until they reach the height or weight limit (which are pretty high)

you CAN put the baby in this seat right from day 1 but I think it is easier in the beginning to have them in the infant seat so you do not have to wake them to bring them from the car if they fall asleep in the infant seat

I moved my dd to a convertible car seat at 5 months Chat Icon

Ahhh I see. Chat Icon Thanks! New to this!

The infant seat comes in and out of the car - this type of seat (a convertible) stays in the car, so every time you would put baby in and out, you would actually have to lift him/her out of the seat instead of just removing the whole thing.

I just ordered 4 in granite- two for DH's car (one for baby to be and one for Joey), one for SIL who takes Joey a lot, and one extra so that when this baby is born, we can give someone who is taking both kids the extra seat!! Chat Icon Chat Icon

The convertible carseat (like the Britax) can be use rear facing and forward facing.

The main advantage of the infant carseat is that you don't need to take the baby out of the seat to take him/her in and out of the car. The infant carseat comes with the base that you put the carseat in. It only goes rear facing. Most infants stay in the infant carseat until 6-8 months.

You can use directly a convertible carseat.

It's actually illegal to NOT honor the price. I have printed the email order confirmation as a backup. I will be ready to fight it with the Attorney General.

Their site says....
Mispriced Items
Despite our best efforts, a small number of the items on our Web site may be mispriced. Rest assured, however, that we verify prices as part of our shipping procedures.

* If an item's correct price is higher than our stated price, we will, at our discretion, either contact you for instructions before shipping or cancel your order and notify you of such cancellation.

I hope this isn't the case though...if I didn't buy the 2 I did recently I would have jumped on this deal SO fast!!!

Thanks for posting! I hope they do honor the prices.

I need a convertible seat for DD. At 12+ months she is still in the snug ride.

Why are they so cheap? Do you think they're okay??

I bet they are discontinuing the patterns if I had to guess. These are top rated carseats!

jenn my words exact.

Re: britax marathon-59.99

Is anyone worried that were not going to get them once they figure it out, I mean I'm sure its a big mistake on there part, but they also are allowed not to send them to us. I mean so many of us are ordering them, who knows if they have that many in stock--lol

Re: britax marathon-59.99

Wow- they both are sold out. That only took a few hours!

I was thinking about the fine print another poster found, the one covering themselves in case of an error. I don't think it is an error, because there were TWO different styles and they were marked different prices.

I also think that after seeing sales spike for them- we, who purchased them, would have already been notified. (I am still crossing my fingers though- it was an amazing steal!)

Re: britax marathon-59.99

I also think it was a big mistake. I mean, I ordered 4 just in case it's not, but the more I think about it...I paid $270 for the marathon we got before DS was born. That's less then $200 savings? I know they are probably coming out with updated styles, but I would think maybe $50 off or so, but not more then $200! But I ordered 4 a few hours ago, so I didn't think before I clicked lol. I am just beginning to think it was a huge mix up on their part and now I am wondering if I should cancel my order. Chat Icon

Why would you?

Wouldn't you cancel if you got notified?

I wouldn't think it was a big mistake, I would think the patterns are being discontinued and BAM all their stock is gone!
