BRU rave

I know I haven't posted about it, but my shower was 2 weeks ago. At my shower I received 3 PNPs, 2 changing tables, 3 swings, 2 bathtubs, duplicates of my bedding, grooming kits, blankets, carrier covers, etc.... it was absurd. My DHs family admitted to not handing in the registry when they made their purchases... so that explains most of it.

I brought as many gift receipts as I could find. BRU in Commack (my preferred store) was amazing. They took back EVERY SINGLE ITEM whether or not i had a receipt, so long as it was on my registry. They even gave me cash back for some of the items. They did not give me any problems returning ANYTHING!! I walked out of there with almost $500 in store credits.

My advice to BRU registrants, if you get something NOT on your registry- add it. That way they will take it back despite whether or not you have a receipt. Also, take it to a STAND ALONE store. I know it was posted before that the bay shore store was giving someone problems about returning, its true. Side by side BRU/TRU stores have different return policies than stand alones. Good to know!

I was very nervous about the BRU return policy and ended up pleasantly surprised. I live in Bay Shore, but after the treatment & help at the Commack store, that's the only one at which I will shop..

ETA: there were 2 small items that were not on my registry. Rather than taking them back at the sale price, they let me add it to my registry & return it at my convenience.. It literally took me 2 mins at home on my computer & then I returned it the next day on my way home. Score again!

I agree about adding things to your registry you didnt get.

we got a graco snugride that we didnt register for..so i went on added it, marked it as purchased and sent DH to return it with some other things. We had no receipt for it. DH said they only way they took it back was b/c they checked the registry and saw that it was on there...whew!!

we got very little of what we registered for and had tons of clothes. DH insisted we can return the clothing..yet only 2 pcs of clothing we received had BRU tags on it. They took those back b/c they were nice..but they werent supposed to b/c we had no receipt and it wasnt on our registry.

so i will say the BRU by me in PA has been very accommodating.
