BTDT moms. 1 year check up
When was your check up? How many days before or after their first birthday? We had a appointment 2 days after he turned 1, and I have to r/s be the reception didn’t pay realize the Dr. I like is away for some medical conference. So when I called she said they don’t like to book then before their 1st birthday always after. The next appt they have with a time that works for me is like 2 ½ weeks after. I really want to go sooner, so we can get off formula.

Re: BTDT moms. 1 year check up
My DS's 1-yr appt was 2 weeks after he turned 1. They would only book it 3 months or later from his 9 month appt. We were always off a week or so from his actual birthday all year long.
You could always call the office and ask how they suggest transitioning to milk. All doctors offices are different with that.

Re: BTDT moms. 1 year check up
Colin's 1st bday is 10/30 and his 1-yr well visit is 11/5. Just a reminder, if you're interested in giving your son the flu shot, I would mention it when you make your appt so you can get it done without a separate visit.
You certainly don't need to MDs OK on cow's milk if you're comfortable with it. I started mixing breastmilk and cow's milk for Ryan in his 11-month because my supply took a dip (I was pregnant with Colin).

Re: BTDT moms. 1 year check up
DD's appointment was 2 weeks after. The dr. said as long as it's AFTER her 1st birthday it's no problem. I wouldn't worry...
ETA: I called the office when she did turn 1 and spoke to the nurse and she told me I could do whatever I felt comfortable with for the transition to milk. She said she recommends cold turkey, but I decided to mix formula/milk for a week or so. DD was fine with it!

We went off milk after his 10 month appt, as per our ped. Could you just call and ask about the milk?

DD had hers when she was 13.5 months. She is a winter baby and kept getting rescheduled due to snow storms.
You can start transitioning off formula before you see the ped.
