BTDT moms, anyone measure small and/or a week behind later on in their pergnancies
I knew I was going to measure small, which is wonderful consiering I've gained 24 lbs at 32 weeks...but I digress... We make small babies...DD was 6 10 I was 6 10 and DH was 5'5 when he was born....also, I'm carrying very small...so the baby is only measuring 3lbs 8oz right now so they want me coming back in two weeks to make sure she's growing appropriately...She's also measuring a week behind which she hasn't up until this point, which got me a bit nervous...anyone experience this???

Re: BTDT moms, anyone measure small and/or a week behind later on in their pergnancies
DD measured small, under the 10th percentile at 36 weeks. I was sent to specialists to make sure there wasn't anything wrong with the umbilical cord, and I had stress tests every other day for 2 weeks. Everything turned out to be great. I was induced 5 days late, DD was 6lbs, 6oz and 19in. At her 9 month appointment she was 19lbs, 13oz and 28in. My little peanut turned out pretty good!
Good luck to you!

Re: BTDT moms, anyone measure small and/or a week behind later on in their pergnancies
Both DC's were small. DS was 7 lbs, DD 6 lbs 1 oz. DD was always at the lower end of the growth curve and at one point was measuring a few days behind. I was already going every 2 weeks for other reasons, but the following visit she was back to normal. I wouldn't worry too much. Don't forget sono measurements can be off by a pound or 2. As long as her organs are developing normally, I wouldn't worry too much.

Re: BTDT moms, anyone measure small and/or a week behind later on in their pergnancies
DD1 was SGA/borderline IUGR and had nuchal cord. SHe was monitored very closely for weeks as this was her pattern from the beginning! She was eventually more than 2 weeks behind. She was/is fine (born at 5 lb 15oz...DD2 was SUA and was 6 lb 9oz). We laugh now and say she was a terrible eater even in utero b/c she is still a bad eater (picky and small quantity). She barely holds the 5th percentile in weight most of the time. DD2, would eat the whole house if I let her! It's amazing how different two kids can be!

Re: BTDT moms, anyone measure small and/or a week behind later on in their pergnancies
Yes me!
DS was measuring small for awhile. At his growth sono at 36 weeks, they told me he is very small and that he was measuring only at 33 weeks. For weight he was okay but for everything else it was measuring small. I had to be induced at 39 weeks and DS came out 6lbs 9oz and 19inches long. Everything was fine, the dr just said...EASIER for you to push out!! he was Super tiny though!!!
ETA: DS is now 13months old and 26lbs!!!!!!!! Image Attachment(s):

DS measured two weeks behind my entire pregnancy. I went two weeks late and he still was only 6 lbs, 3 oz at birth. Don't worry, they catch up, he doubled his weight in 2 months.
This baby is measuring exactly on target.

Re: BTDT moms, anyone measure small and/or a week behind later on in their pergnancies
Ianswered on your other thread, but I just wanted to add "measuring behind" is a terrible way for the sono techs to put it. As long as your DC is within a healthy percentile, the baby will be fine .. some babies are going to be born in a high percentile (95%) and some will be on the low end (15%) .. try not to stress about their wording. Your DD seems to have been small too when she was born ....

Re: BTDT moms, anyone measure small and/or a week behind later on in their pergnancies
Thanks everyone...I'm SURE DD would have measured small as well but I didn't have a growth sono with her...it was just the week behind thing that threw me for a loop!
We make small babies here, but DD is far from small NOW

Re: BTDT moms, anyone measure small and/or a week behind later on in their pergnancies
Yes that was me! By my second trimester, they were whipping out the tape measure at every visit and shaking their head- saying my belly was measuring small, measuring small. Then on the sonos, the baby was measuring small from the 2nd tri on. She was always in like the 25 or so percentile.
Which led to me having extra sonos (pretty nice side effect!) and a ton of NST and biophysical profiles in my 3rd tri. But I also had high blood pressure starting in my second trimester so they were always concerned that my blood pressure was affecting the blood flow to the baby. I had a lot of doppler tests during my sonos- to check the blood flow.
Everything was alway ok on these test.
Then I delivered a 7 lb baby one day before my due date. Perfectly healthy and perefectly average in size for a newborn.
Bottom line- I just carried small, my belly was small, the baby was small I guess, but not really all THAT small in the end. The sonos aren't always accurate on the weight so all that worry was really for nothing!

Re: BTDT moms, anyone measure small and/or a week behind later on in their pergnancies
DS was measuring small. They were expecting him to be around 6lbs. I had to get monitored every week for the last 2 months. I was also on bedrest also for a blood clot issue. He ended up being perfectly healthy and weighed 7lbs 4oz at birth. They said I could just make small babies but since they have nothing to compare it to, I had to get monitored. Oh and I'm 5'9 and DH is 6'3 so we were expecting a 10 pounder
