BTDT Moms of 2+ kids, when does it stop being so hectic?

It just feels like it is non-stop right now with a 2yo and a NB. If I'm alone with them, it's complete chaos. If I have DH or another family member, I still usually have to watch one of the kids and/or do housework.

When can you not watch the kids non-stop?

I'm hoping when the younger one is 3...

never Chat Icon sorry-couldn't resist!
DS is almost 2 and DD is almost 4 and just recently i have found it easier to really leave them be without feeling too worried. this is mostly b/c BOTH of them are finally able to get engrossed in a TV show or Elmo movie. but DS is so active and on the move for most of the time that it's still hard...so i am thinking that next summer by the time he's 3 it should be a lot better b/c he can understand danger bettter etc..

Re: BTDT Moms of 2+ kids, when does it stop being so hectic?

I have an almost 5 year old and an almost 1 year old. I found that once my little guy was on a schedule, things were much less chaotic. Then, once we figured bedtime out (my hubby works nights, so it was all on me), peace was restored for the most part. So by 6 months I felt I had a complete handle on it.
That being said...there are still days that things are nothing but chaos, but they get fewer and farther between. Hang in there, it's really really rough in the beginning. And especially because your oldest is 2, whereas my oldest was almost 4 when my son was born. You'll see as your 2 year old can be more independent, that helps, too.Chat Icon
