I'm wondering the same thing. I have a HUGE tub of clothes and I know if I have a girl I won't use any of it

I know I will... a lot of Landon's stuff is hand me downs from my sister and friend. I still buy him new stuff that I love, and stuff for special occasions, but about half of his stuff is hand me downs.

If I have another girl, I absolutely will! DD has so many nice things that she barely wore because she grew so fast the first 7 months.

Re: BTDT moms of more than one....
I saved all DD's clothes, they are practically brand new and now #2 is a boy so they are going to waste. However we are using the hand me downs we got from others and they are saving us a fortune. I would definitely keep them...

I have so many things that are brand new with tags in bins. I am having another boy so I'll def. be using it all. I'm sure that won't stop me from shopping for this one though too!

Re: BTDT moms of more than one....
Honestly, no. There were a few staple items that I did use or stuff I really liked. When Jay was about 6 months, I gave family friend 5 bags of clothes that I saved from Nate. And a couple of weeks ago I gave 7 bags to Goodwill.
Whenever we buy clothes for Nate, we just buy something for Jayden. It's a little wasteful, but we almost never buy everyday clothes full price. My mom gets stuff dirt cheap after she uses her employee discount and I only buy stuff when it's too good to pass up.

yes, I do/did reuse all of my DD#1's clothes for DD#2. Both my DD's have even worn their older brothers PJ's and onesies!

Yes I used everything. However, the months were petty close- March and May so it worked out. Of couse having the same sex again is a bonus to reuse clothes.

Re: BTDT moms of more than one....
I saved all of DS's clothes and everything is in pretty good condition. However, now that I'm expecting a girl, I'm not quite sure how long I want to hold on to the clothes. I'm thinking of maybe finding someone in the opposite situation so that I can trade some boy clothes for girl clothes...unless we consider TTC for #3 some time after #2 is born.

Re: BTDT moms of more than one....
I have not BTDT...but I have been saving all of DD's clothing. I figure when we have another and it's not a girl - I'll just give away the girl stuff that I don't want. In the beginning I used to separate the gender neutral stuff - now I'm too lazy to do that. It can't hurt to keep Sadie's things as long as you have room to store them!

Ok ...
Ijust feel like I remember certain things with Sadie in all of the outfits and I would want a new baby to have their own "memories" with their own outfits...
I guess I am nuts.
I have been saving everything so I hope by the time Im ready for the next one I will have a change of heart LOL.

Of course you will be shopping-with two boys you need lots of coordinating outfits!
I save all of DDs clothes. So far it looks like I am probably having a boy. I won't be able to use most of my stuff, but I'm going to pick through and find the neutrals and I will definitely reuse what I can.
I think if you have a different gender or if your next child is born in a different season, it may cut done on your ability to re-use.

It's funny I was just thinking the same thing the other day looking at all of the large containers I have filled with clothes taking over the house already and he's only 7 months. I've pretty much saved everything too so far.

You pretty explained my train of thoughts. I have saved ALL of DS' clothes so far. At the beginning for a potential baby #2. But also for souvenirs. I am a self admitted pack rat. But honestly I have thought about it and I know already I won't be using it if we have a baby #2.
1/ I loved the clothes on DS. I bought them with HIM in mind. So they match his eyes. Yes, I am total sucker!!!
2/ I don't want baby #2 (if it's a boy!) 20 years later finding on all his pics that he has the same clothes than DS#1 and he just got left over.
I wish I was "practical". I should be because I usually am EXCEPT when it comes to DS!

Re: BTDT moms of more than one....
We used a lot of stuff from DS for DD. When they are home, who cares what color things are.... plus, girls can get away with wearing blue much easier than boys wearing pink. Onesies, pjs, t-shirts, etc we reused. Saved a lot of money so we could spend it when she was a toddler and "needed" frilly pink things....

Re: BTDT moms of more than one....
When we found out #2 was a girl I was thinking, "Man- all Maddie's clothes are a different season" because my first DD was born in June and my second was a November baby.
THANKFULLY, Eliza is a chub a lub and has fit into ALL of Madelyn's stuff (she's 7 months and starting to wear all of Madelyn's 12 month stuff from last year).
So a resounding YES that we are again using ALL of my firstborn's stuff. Of course I still get cute stuff for #2- but it is a HUGE $$$$ help that I am able to use the old clothes.

Yes, I used what I saved and I have passed on a lot. I had 2 different sex babies but I had a bunch of gender neutral infant things that I used again.

I actually picked through DDs clothes and pulled out the stuff that brought back strong memories-birthday dress, Christmas dress, Coming home outfit, a couple other day-to-day outfits that I loved on her. Maybe 5 or 6 outfits total. Those I put in a keep sake trunk that has her name, birthday and birth stats on it.
Everything else that didn't evoke strong feelings went into the "reuse if I can" bins.

Re: BTDT moms of more than one....
Its a sin how many clothes are sitting in storage with tags on it & stuff that was worn only once. Most of Anthony's clothes when he was forst born was gifts. If I have another boy (which I secretly hope), the only things I will ever need to buy him are some pjs & plain white onesies!

Re: BTDT moms of more than one....
I'm saving it all, and I know I will use some but not all. The white tees, onesies, hats, socks, and all the other basics, I'll definitely use again. DD also has some stuff she never wore, because I forgot where I had put some stuff even though I washed it. Those I will certainly use if I have another girl. Outfits that DD wore often I probably won't reuse because I associate them with her. I might reuse some of her pajamas, jeans, pants. Special or distinct outfits probably no--basic/generic outfits, probably yes.
