Re: C-Section Moms: How long was your hospital stay?
C-section was Tuesday morning, discharged Saturday afternoon. I kept spiking fevers and needing antibiotics. Plus I could barely move.
Total hospital stay was 8 days because I had gone in Friday afternoon for an induction.

So I just saw this article this morning and thought about this thread adn the whole "rooming in" thing. This is awful. I hope this hosptial has to pay MILLIONS for what happened. All because they want to cut costs. Make no mistake, that is what this is all about. And now a baby is dead because of it. This is absolutely disgraceful and I really hope that hospitals start to look at these bullshyt polices because of it.
Newborn suffocates in mom's hosptial bed
ITA I read this article this morning and it is absolutely the hospitals fault. It is so disgraceful and it is to save money but at what cost?
After my second c-section I was throwing up non stop and they kept saying I needed to keep my daughter in with me. Meanwhile i had the anthestoligst in with me pumping me full of drugs to stop the non stop vomitting. I was crying and throwing up and my dh had enough. He went into the hall and I have no clue what he said to the nurse but I assume he wasn't so pleasant and they took my daughter in the nursery for a little while so I could throw up without a newborn on me. It is getting crazy.

Omg that is disgraceful. Again I want to know on what other surgical floor would they entrust a newborn baby to a patient who just had major abdominal surgery, is vomitting, and is pumped full of pain meds. I feel like legislation needs to be passed about this. This to me is a women's rights issue. They want to pass all these laws to protect babies in ybe womb but once they are born, it's fine to endanger them to save a buck under the bulllshit guise of "bonding". Please.

Re: C-Section Moms: How long was your hospital stay?
My first csection was 4 nights 5 days, baby went to nursery at night (and was in NICU for a day or two). My second this year was 3 nights 4 days but they said I could stay one more day if I wanted. I was so uncomfortable that I wanted to go home. This one, baby was with me since birth (other than 4 hr observation in nursery). I kept baby at night too. It encouraged me to move and helped me get to know my baby. I could barely sleep anyway, bed was uncomfortable, so it was ok that I barely slept or had to wake up every 3 hours. ETA- They did encourage me to send her back so I could get rest. I did not feel the need, although a few times I felt like if I held her on the bed I might fall asleep while holding the baby.
