No laughing here! I wondered the same thing. Yes, even though it might be raised and red, I was still able to shave (gently) over the scar, although there wasn't much to shave. If you are careful it should be fine Chat Icon And honestly, even if you cut yourself, you are not going to open the scar up.

Re: C section moms (warning TMI)

You should be fine to shave over the scar. Just gently and slowly. It shouldn't open up. Obviously use a good blade. Chat Icon

I'm going to make an appt to get a wax soon b4 we leave for vacation. It's going to be over 8 months PP so I think I should be good for that... I hope Chat Icon

Wow, your scar must be low. My scar isn't that low! It's under my stomach where my belly folds over.

Yes, it's save to shave. I shaved as close as I could to it before I even had my staples taken out. (My OB must have thought I was a wacko!)

Once my staples were out I gently shaved over the area every few days.

Re: C section moms (warning TMI)

I'd check with your OB. I'm not going to do anything until after my 6 week check up.... not doing anything with DH or shaving/waxing

Wow, you are brave!

I had an infection, so it hasn't even been a thought for me. I guess if I had a "normal" recovery I might not be soo cautious.

Re: C section moms (warning TMI)

I wouldn't. My scar reopened after 8 weeks. I highly doubt this is due to shaving, but it's a reminder that it's still a sensitive area!!

oh god no! LOL I'm 16 months PP and have never shaved over it and won't be getting anymore brazilian waxes just regular bikini waxes. My scar is still raised and red, keloid. my doc wants to fix it after this baby is born. my scar is also really low the waxing lady said it's the lowest scar she has ever seen in 30 years

I had a c-section 20 days ago and I've shaved a couple of times already with no problems. My scar was closed up about a week after surgery. Did you have stiches or staples? My doctor used stiches.

Really? Mine is way low.. I was actually surprised at how low... definitely in the shavable area.. hahahaha.

I waited a long while before shaving OVER it... but I kind of did the top and bottom if you know what I mean.

Mine is literally on my vagina, not on my stomach at all. I was terrified to shave....I waited a LONG time, and then started getting brazilians again after at least 8 months.
