I'm paying literally twice as much for FIOS as I would for Cablevision (my 2-year promo price is over, and they extended it for a year when I threatened to cancel, but now that's up too), but I don't care. I'm never going back.

Keep threatening to cancel. I just went as far as setting up an apt with CV to come and Verizon got the notification. They extended our promo price again for another 2 years.

Re: Cablevision vs. Fios

Fios hands down. My parents still have Cablevision and when I go to their house I hate watching TV. I feel like it takes an hour just to change channels.

Re: Cablevision vs. Fios

My DH works for Cablevision and we get it for free and I love it Chat Icon lol As for rebooting the boxes all of the time, I never have that problem. Also, Fios1 doesn't compare to how great News 12 is. I watch it all of the time and would def miss it. Also, the optimum wifi is key! Especially with using free wifi on our iPads and cell phones. See who's giving u the better deal and try it out. If u want out of ur contract, I know for sure optimum will buy u out of ur contract... Not 100% sure if Verizon does that but they probably do.

ETA: my DH said the problem with the rebooting cable boxes were because of the old boxes. The new Samsung boxes don't have that problem (which are the ones we have).
