Calling curvy girls - boobs, bootays, bellies!
Would you/could you wear this? Would you be comfortable? It will be navy. I tried it on and I personally was fine, but one of my girls is very plus sized (largest around the middle) and another girl has a VERY large chest - the sample was just too small to get an idea. They also don't have an opinion about anything, so this is difficult. It stinks that they make those samples so small.
(It's 2 pieces, and has spaghetti straps -the model's hair is covering it)
What do you think?
eta: the skirt IS a-line .... the pic is deceiving. AND it comes with a shawl. Sorry!

It's good, except for the spaghetti straps. You should maybe find a dress with thicker straps.

Re: Calling curvy girls - boobs, bootays, bellies!
As a "curvy" girl myself I woudl NOT want to wear that dress. That dress will look good on someone who is slim. I would go with A line. For my wedding we had all body types. I asked the girls to go buy a black dress. The bridal shop tried to tell me i was crazy etc. They all looked beautiful and were wearing a style they were comfortable with. And the could wear the dress again!
Eta it is a pretty dress but id on't feel it would be flattering on plus sized people.

Re: Calling curvy girls - boobs, bootays, bellies!
I already told you thi, but I personally have no problem with the spaghetti straps. even though I am large on top, I like my shoulders and I don;t mind wearing strapless, although finding the right bra is a pain.
What i DO have a problem with is the slim sihouette, and also the bow around the hip area. To me that's calling attention to all the wrong things and I would not be comfortable. Granted they probably have it pulled in on the model so the real gown is probably a little fuller, but as a curvy gal I like to call attention to the top, and thios draws all of the attention to the hips and thighs, which I think for most girls, no matter how much they like their curvaceous bods are probably not considered the highlight.

it's beautiful. For people who worry about their arms, they can wear a wrap or a bolero and for those who have big boobs, they may want to wear something like a strapless corset.
It's a challenge but I am round shaped and I would wear it.

Re: Calling curvy girls - boobs, bootays, bellies!
Although I think the dress is really nice, with my huge breasteses I wouldnt feel comfortable with the spagetti straps. I like something that's gonna hold the girls in.

Re: Calling curvy girls - boobs, bootays, bellies!
Overall, I'm a large woman in frame and other ways! But most of my noticeable extra weight is below the waist. Thus, I would not be comfortable with a dress that is not a true a-line with perhaps and underskirt to floof it out a bit.
Although I'm not nuts about my arms, I would wear the upper portion without an issue. Straps are great, in retrospect I probably should have had them on my wedding dress.
You said the pic of the skirt is deceiving but honestly, I'd be worried about that skirt on me.

Re: Calling curvy girls - boobs, bootays, bellies!
Here's an idea... Post a thread on the LIW '06 and perhaps BHB boards for pictures of plus sized bridesmaids. Then you can see the styles you think are flattering. Or maybe look through the review section for pics?

Same here.

Re: Calling curvy girls - boobs, bootays, bellies!
First, the dress is very pretty, however, having large boobs, I dont think I could wear that dress at all...spagetti straps really dont hold "the girls" up. And finding a bra wouldn't really work. I had girls of all diff sizes in my wedding, I took one of the larger girls with me and had her try on dresses. I figured, what looked good on her would be ok for the rest and it really was!! Best of luck...it is a hard thing to do!!!

Shorty did any of your girls look at the dresses?
I went with my girls. I picked dresses that all had different tops this way my girls could decide what top they liked best.

Honestly, the bow and the thin straps make it look like something I wouldn't want to wear (plus girl here). Otherwise, it's very pretty, just for a thinner person I think.

I have girls ranging from a preggo, FSIL just had twins, a size 2, etc.
Make your life easier and do separates. we all picked the same a-line skirt, and they picked their own top.
