Calling Police Question

I was at my local 7-eleven last night getting milk and there was a couple in their van doing some sort of drug. I assume heroin as all I saw was them with needles. I jumped in my car and drove home, since I had forgot my cell phone. I called 911 as soon as I walked in which was about five minutes and reported it but want to know if the police were able to arrest them. I was so nervous they were going to drive away and kill someone.

How do I find out if they were able to arrest them? Do I call the police department?
